I think we should have a roll call :))
Some names I have'nt seen for ages, Lily and Eileen to name two.
Others who pop on and post a couple of times, do you still look in, say hi if you do.
I don't post as much as I have in the past but still think about you all often.

Hi to everyone. Have been keeping up with posts. Have not been posting here lately as have had a rotten time and tend to hide, when things are not so good.

What is spelling? I make so many mistakes, glad there is a spell check on PC.

David, your trip with you brother sounds great, bet he really enjoyed it and spending time with you.

Sharron, know how you feel, it is a shock when it happens, you have had loads to contend with lately and probably no ME time at all to take it all in.

Whitenancy, GP pronto, before it gets any worse. Does sound like a phobia, and not a diet thing.

Clarejo, sounds like a great break away and recharging the batteries. Glad you had a great relaxing time.

Deanna, hi to you and hope you are feeling better.

Y/Caz, know you will look in, so many gentle hugs to you.

Big hi to Ann in glos

Hope Carole has a great time in Florida.

I have only replied to this page, as memory is not great on the heavy meds, so if I have missed anybody, it is not because I do not care.

Love and hugs to all

Gail

PS: I am trying to hatch a chicken in the oven at the moment, mum got off the nest with 4 chickens and left 2 eggs, one was rotten, the other has a chick partly hatched. No I will not cook it, just keep warming the oven then turning it off. Poor little thing, hope it makes it okay.

Chicken hatched after 6 hours in oven and is now back with mum.

Hello all, just checking in Claire, lol. You are right Gail when you say I look in and read the posts, it is easy to read stood up. The problem is sitting to type, back is still bad and I've had enough when I've done the little bit I have put on for Dutch.
Gail I am so pleased for the little chick, but you know me and hens don't you. Thanks for the hugs by the way, glad they were gentle ones.

Hope everyone is as good as they can be, I think about you all even though I don't post.

Love and hugs to all.

Thank you Deanna and all the others

Don't know if you recall but I had a very bad dose of flu during April. During that month and a few weeks later I had had two heavy falls (both accidents) to to ground landing on my right. One fall was in the bathroom, the other was beside my desk here.

The falls didn't hurt at the time, just knocked the wind out of me. Now my right shoulder aches all the time, even turning over in bed is an effort sometimes. I have mobility in the joint and I can pick things up so I haven't broken any thing

What would cause this aggravation now ? I already have a gammy knee.

Joke is I turn 60 in april so what are my chances of getting a job now for a few months ??

The government must be hell bent on getting people off benifits .

Lol Claire!!!! seems like they are scared of you so have checked in!!!!!

David, maybe it is inflammation, have you tried ibroprufen gell? A chiropracter or an osteopath could advise you.

Caz, just spoke to you on the other thread, maybe when you have read you could just press the reply button and type Hi so we know you are still around and OKish!!

Gail Hi to you, hope the chook didn't get a sense of what happens to his kin when he/she was in the oven, good to see you posting!!

Love to everyone else.

David, it could be bruising just coming to the surface... very painful but it will go....... I hope! ha ha ha

I am okay just now Gail.... we are having new kitchens put in in our street..... the joy is killing me!!! ha ha ha
It will take about 3 weeks and I am trying to get organised.
It is not that I don't like work... I do, I could watch people working all day.
Having to do it myself, at my speed.... which is practically 'standing still' and all the rests I need in between. I'm doing okay though and it will be done.
Right folks, coffee break over, back to work.
Love to all

Never thought of that. There's no external bruising though

GranOfOzRubySlippers

GranOfOzRubySlippers Report 7 Oct 2009 09:50

David, you need to have it checked out by doctor, it has been a long time to be still sore. Could be internal bruising, or something that needs help to settle down.

Y/Caz, I am going to try and get some photos of the chickens, and email them to you. I just have to get them to stand still long enough. The little one that hatched in the oven is doing really well, such a hard start to life and she is just beautiful.

Ann in glos, I do not eat my chickens, OH eats the eggs, as does most of the neighbourhood. I used to when much younger, as that is what we ate, what we grew and they were not pets. All of mine are pets.

Okay, have checked in again today.

love and hugs

AnninGlos Report 7 Oct 2009 10:07

Gail I know you don't eat your chickens, that is why I said her kin, meaning distant relatives. In the war we used to raise and eat chickens and never thought anything of it, it was one way to get food.

Just a quick hello to all, and hope by now some of the cards I sent out are arriving, wasn't sure if I was putting them in the right boxes lol

Still trying to readjust to boring routine here after a lazy time in Corfu, hate coming back to dull autumn weather and knowing that short days and wintry weather loom, it's getting me down already.

Will try and start the belated holiday diary this evening or next one,

love to all

Great to see you back Liz, have been reading you thread, keep it up as very interesting.

I am so excited as I have just found my 3rd great grandfathers Christening record (1804) in the new London Indexes. It also had his date of birth do a bonus as well. Hopefully I can now find his parents marriage in 1802, hope I am that lucky.

I am having fun again tracing family, at the moment so helpful for my frame of mind. Plus having new chickens keeps me busy and loads of fun.
