Just to let you all know I'm still alive! I tried to change some settings and lost my twinkly bits. Haven't the will to mess about with it at the moment. I'm feeling a little stronger and done a pile of ironing yesterday and cleaned the bathroom today. Now to lie down again.
Spoke to Mum earlier and I think (unless she changes hwer mind) Dad will leave hospital and go into a home. Now to face the social workers I guess. I told Mum to make an appointment so we can see them as a family and stop her being forced into doing something she and HE do not want.
Love to you all and thanks for your messages xx

Hi all
Was having a great day at kew today with my 3 of my friends.Until i went down to see one of the go home, then went to get my lunch out of the locker there, found my bag and everything else had been taken,
I had locked the door, but for got to take the key out to take with me, But some one had gone in taken my bag with my money, keys, credit cards, glasses and lots more. I felt sick,
But i was helped and looked after well by staff.
How can someone do that. You wouldnt think it happen in a place like that would you.

Hazel, what a rotten thing to happen, especially on a nice day out in a place like that. There are some rotten b******ds in the world. Hope your bag is found with some of the personal things and stuff you need like specs, etc, possibly the thief dumped them somewhere after taking the valuables and money.
Take care all, I have to get to bed as up for the Norwich meet later

Oh Hazel, so sorry about your bag. I suppose you were unlucky that a "bad"person tried your locker before a "good" person. Nice to see you persisting Tink. Hope you find your sparkly bits, but they are not important. We know who you are. Hello purple sparkly, also nice to see you. Hello Mummo, I have read some of your posts. Gail, maybe we'll get some rain in spring. Maybe. Mary, you are heroic (please don't blush). Hope Gareth is enjoying extra time with you- is M his mum? I am still a bit confused about your family.
I have been busy with work and with family history stuff. I have been back to Windsor library to check some notes I took some years ago, and found I had one right, one wrong and one uncertain. I have a historic 2x or 3x great uncle who I thought married at St James, Pitt Town. I have a certificate that I can't find it at present, but he is not in the St James Pitt Town register (unless whoever copied all the pages missed one). There do seem to be surprisingly few in the register in the first years after it was consecrated. I need that certificate!!! Best wishes to all I haven't greeted personally. xx Colin.

Mummo I know what you mean about seeing your mum looking so fragile. My dad is the same. Dad was always the young thinking, and looking one for his age, ( still lots of black hair at 80). To see him so little and helpless breaks my heart.
Been reading up to date but cant concentrate enough to answer you all. So I'll just send my love and hope you all have a good weekend. xx
Hazel how upsetting to find your locker had been emptied. I'm so sorry. Hope you cancelled your cards before they could use them. What bad people to do that when they could so easily have locked up and handed the key in to reception for you. I agree with Liz, B*******

Yes i would have done that if i saw someone had left key in door, locked it and handed it in.
I am going back Tuesday again as they not going to stop me doing what i want to, I let that happen once befor when something like it happen to me years ago. Never again.
But will be worrying alot for few times i go there again, Be checking i have my key all the time.
But we shouldnt have to be like that.
But i think they need to look at the locker room in more detail to see how it can be made more safe. As anyone can walk in there off the raod walk round and do what they want, so will be thinking hard how it can be done and bring it up when i go to the next meeting on the 20th.
Many thanks to you all

Hello everyone. You all seem to be suffering in some way just now and I can't help. I wish I could do something to help. I feel so useless most of the time anyway. I used to be so able , and if I could do something for someone, then I did. It is so very hard to be like this.. so damned useless.
I want to cheer you all up, I want to come and help you all... I want to see your happy messages again, but we WILL all get there again I'm sure.
I had a phone call this morning from Joyce...Dutch... it was nice. We insulted each other and had a laugh and felt good after it. I wish I could do it to everyone of you.
To have Carole so low is just not right is it? After all she is the one who started this and remembers all of us... cheer up darling and get well soon.
Love to everyone, Deanna XXXX

Deanna, you do help people, so don't feel down, you aren't useless at all. You have coped through so much and still care about others and that's what it's all about. We all know you are thinking about folk even if you aren't on the boards, same as others here, so keep thinking positive about yourself and all your family and friends, and things will be good. I was in our local Poundshop yesterday, o.h. was wandering around and I managed to lose him lol, while I found the book dept. They have some good books there for a quid, and today was no exception, I found one novel to read later on and was searching through the rest altho most seemed books for men this time. A young woman came and stood next to me with her little girl in the buggy, the child got a book and the woman started looking through the adult books, saying to me, I am not sure what I am looking for, I don't read much but my Mum does, and I thought I would get her a book, she said she liked Catherine Cookson ones etc, could I help her choose something. Naturally gabby me said yes, and showed her the one I had just found, so she took one like that and then picked up another as we chatted, asking about that one. It also looked good, set in the late 50s so probably about her Mum's era same as mine. She handed the second one to me and I thought I would get it too but we couldn't find another so as she had said it was her Mum's birthday I let her take it. She then said If you trust me, I am just an ordinary person, give me your address and I know my Mum would be pleased to send it on to you, she reads fast so it won't be long. She also said her Mum might send others on with it, and she could do it through work for her so it wouldn't cost anything. I thought that was really sweet of her and we chatted some more, and I gave her my address. Her Mum lives about 16 miles from here but near a friend of mine who I should visit so I said if she sent me her address with the books I would drop her some of mine off too. The woman seemed happy to chat and introduced herself and told her little girl Liz is going to read the book after Nanny has it, it was so nice to meet someone so open and friendly and we both went on our way with a smile. Life is good sometimes, even o.h. wasn't in too bad a mood lol, we met up after I had been to the Norwich meet.
take care all, Carole, hope you are feeling better, Caz, Dutch, Gail, Eileen - where is Eileen? Hazel, Colin and Betty, in fact all my pals - have a happy Sunday
love and hugs Lizxx

Liz, what a lovely meeting you had with the young lady, she sounds so pleasant to be around. I also enjoy these encounters with strangers, though they do not happen as much now. I think I now scare people off with the way I look and scare little children. When it does happen it is such a joy.
My OH did not ring me from work on Thursday, usually he tries to call in his tea break. No other phone calls either. So, when he walked through the door at 12.30 am, I realised I had not spoken a single word since he left at 2 pm to go to work. I realise this happens quite a bit and have now decided it is time to start talking to the pets again.
I am hoping to have my scooter before the end of the year, (that is if I stop buying certs) at least that way I can get out a bit more. I will also then be able to get down to the river and sit on my favourite rock. I had to stop going as the track is a little rough and it does not take much to have a fall, which is very scary when I am on my own. I am great walking as long as it is smooth and no hilly bits.
Thinking of everyone
Love and hugs
Gail

Mornin' all. Things sound so sad here at the moment, not sure I can cheer anyone up, but I'm here anyway. Liz what a lovely encounter you had, but (rap on the knuckles) why are you buying more books????? Claire sending you special hugs, and one for P as well. I hear you, loud and clear. I am pretty 'buzzed up' this morning. My cousin, who is 74 y/o lives about 30 miles south of London. She is pretty well housebound as her husband has been unwell for years. We have always been very close and I miss her terribly. Well this morning I received an EMAIL from her. My heart skipped a beat, she has joined the 21st century, and now we can communicate without the slowness of postal letters or the cost of long distance phone calls. Apparently because she is a caregiver, she was entitled to receive a laptop, and wasted no time in applying for it !! I am so delighted, this will bring us closer. The girls had a wonderful time at camp and Mary is back there, on her own, this week. Sarah was cooperative and participated in all activities, went canoeing, paddle-boat, swimming, crafts and the girls in her cabin were very kind to her. Never ran away once. She's walking round here now with a big smile on her face. I've done it - finally - written a letter to my boss, to inform him that as of september 1, I am going to go on the 'casual' list and work only when I feel like it.. official retirement date will now be April 30 next year. Such a relief to have put something in writing. have to get a few things done before work this afternoon, so I'll send happy thoughts to those who are struggling, sorry can't start a list of names, just know you are all cared for. hugs Mary

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well. I am still searching for my Cornelius.... gonna *rewrite his death certificate* when I find him!!
Still excited about phoning Tony and Karen on my new found technology..... amazing.... how lucky are we? They will be home at the weekend, so looking forward to seeing 'my boy' again. Glad they had such a nice time and they have made new friends too... all Egyptian. If I had the money I would buy him a house out there, he has loved the place since he was a little boy.
Liz, it is so nice to hear how like me you are. I do that.... I make friends with strangers in shops too. There are SO MANY lovely people around.... many not so lovely, but hey.... that's life. I choose the nice ones. Which books were you both reading?
Well, Carole, Liz,Gail, Mary, Carole CAZ, Colin,Hazel, Mummo, Joyce,Claire, David, Ben.... and anyone I have4 forgotten.... and does anyone ever hear from The other Joyce? If anyone does will you give her my love?
Goodnight all, look after yourselves, and I will see you soon. Lots of love, Deanna XXXXX

Hello Deanna, Liz Purple Sparkly is so right about the way you posts help others. Carole does seem low but it will pass. Sadly, physical problems often don't. But I do hope you are feeling better soon, Carol. Clairjo, nice to see you here again and sorry things are a bit tough for you as well. Gail, it will be nice to be able to get down to the creek more easily. But what's wrong with talking to the pets? I yell at the TV and that is seriously wierd. At least the TV is on when I yell. A blank screen doesn't seem to bother me. Nice to see you David, Hazel and others who have recently put on messages Special Hello to MaxiMary. Congratulations on your proposed retirement. I am a bit jealous.

Hi everyone, MARY.... you are gonna LOVE being a retired lady, and lets face it, you have earned it darling. Want me to send you some books? ;-0) Got loads.
I am going to sit elsewhere now!! I am Sick and Tired of my GGGrandad... so I'm not talking to him. He doesn't want to be found...I wont look for him anymore! I only want his death certificate so I can move on!!
I am so pleased with myself today. My son phoned me, on the computer, and i took a picture, on the computer!! So far so good. Then I had to finbd out where the blooming thing was. ha ha ha... I found it, then I had to figure out how to print it off. After a frustrating period where I wanted to smash the pooter.... I FOUND A WAY! I sent it to myself... and then printed it off.
Now you can all tell me that you knew that, but I don't care... I did NOT know that and had to work it out for myself, so allow me a little moment of *arrogant pride* please? ;-0) Right I am going tp sit with Allan now. He has just come back from the specialist, who has managed to make my polite, quiet husband lose his temper! Just incase you are wondering.... there is NOTHING WRONG WITH HIM!! He can't breath... but what the hell, who cares? Over 65? Don't waste the doctors time!
See you later, Love Deanna XXXX
