Hi everyone. came on here to get cheered up. Feel rotten today, wound very painful abdomen feels swollen, who knows what is normal and what should be a worry after such an op. I am assuming the swelling is some sort of trauma and the pain is because of having the dressing changed yesterday. Also still have no enthusiasm for anything.

sorry, sorry whinge whinge!! It will all pass. have to moan to you so I don't keep moaning to my lovely supportive husband.

Not many around Elaine
I was looking to be cheered up earlier but nobody here.

Thinking of your Aunty and hope she will soon feel better. Hope you have got over your panic attack now. You have not let your OH down (I have only just read your previous thread), you cannot help having panic attacks any more than you could help any other illness. It is perfectly natural to worry about a major op for your OH. I am sure he will be fine though.

Kerry thanks for posting, with a bit of luck one day we will also be able to say we only have anxiety! Hope your week end is also a good one.xx

Elaine take care on the diazapam! I was in it last year and was like a zombie, what doseage are you taking? x How old is your oh? A woman who works with me ( aged 72) her oh had heart surgery about 18 mths ago and did really well. Out and about and driving again within a few months xx
Healing thoughts to your aunt.xx

Jules I know the feeling of needing the toilet bad so well! Poor daughter of yours. I would also dread having to meet those friends of oh. I don't find it easy to mix and never know what to talk about. My sister on the other hand would have everyone laughing in minuites of meeting them. No advice!!! Hope you enjoy it and find a kind person to talk to xx

Liz sorry to hear about your friend. What a shame to die and not to know her son had a family of his own. I wish him well with his lady and little girl. Pleased your friend got such delight from her. You will surly have a gap in your life now too. xx

Gail the snake in the grass upset you but she will surley slither away!! She will leave you feeling low but we are here to help you feel stronger again. So come on back and let us suport you a bit xxx

Deanna how good of Pauline to do that. My friends from work also tried to help me like that. And it's what we need. Wish we could all be with Kathy near the sea to do it with her! I think that is what she needs, a weekly trip, not too far but to somewhere interesting, with the aim of doing what she wants at the end. Hope you read this Kathy xx. Staying at home is safe but not practical.

Ann GG are you spent up! Loaded with bags of bargains!! Hope you had fun xx

Ann you are bound to feel sore. Swelling could be all the red blood cells that go to the wound to mend it. Take your time and relax a bit while your body heals it's self. xxx Keep an eye out for anything that could be a sign of infection xx

Hi Carolina Gill and Joyce. xxx

Dave try to enjoy today xx

Elaine I was on 5mg of diazapam three times a day.
I was sleeping a lot and couldn't drive. I was so relaxed though. Short term you will be okay without getting addicted to it.
How was your aunt? xx

Carole Report 1 Mar 2008 21:55

I'm sorry to hear that. Reminds me of a few people I've loved and lost, cancer is so cruel. A very dear friend is on chemo at the moment she has been told it is terminal but they are trying to give her longer.
Bless your aunt xxx

Will add now as I won't get on again till Sunday night unless son lets me go on his computer, but if we are eating and going out too, might not be time.
I hope all of you with problems find today is a nice day which eases your worries . Never ever feel bad cos you are ill, it is not something you have chosen, it is fate being unkind so just plod on, keep taking the tablets where applicable lol and try to do one positive thing if you can. Doesn't need to be a big thing, something small will do fine.
Will be thinking of you all and hoping Kathy by the sea pops in if she is alone - hi hon, hope that lad of yours has made contact for M.D.
love and hugs to all,
Lizxxxxxx

Betty, you are having a tough time. What a shame your daughter is involved with someone close by so that you have such worries. Being a Mother is a hard old job but we chose to do it and sometimes it hurts!
Your sister sounds such a wonderful woman, and I am glad you managed to have a laugh at that memory of her, I am sure that is the way she wants to be remembered too!
You take care love, hope your lad is ok now he has moved - do you mean he has further to go to work now?
hugs for you love,
Lizxx

As long as you get the words on here doesn't matter how many fingers Betty or how fast or slow lol

I hope your lad is enjoying his job - he will learn to pace himself I hope and get enough sleep, eat well etc so he can cope with the long day. Good for him for trying to work when he isn't well.
Maybe your daughter will see sense soon.
You take care, I need to get to bed soon as have to get up earlier than usual to get to my son's flat, only 20 mins drive away luckily.
Hope you have a nice day.

Grabagran

Grabagran Report 2 Mar 2008 11:17

I have suffered for 37yrs, and if anyone would like to talk, they can contact me anytime. I am a good listener, and keep to myself what is said.
I sympathise with anyone who suffers from depression and anxiety attacks, as they can stop you in your tracks. My worst ones used to be a buses. When I had a seat on the bus, and people were standing over me, I though they were going to fall onto me, and the whole world was caving in on me. Many a time I had to ask the driver to stop the bus as I thought I was going to be sick. It was the only way I could deal with it. I have now kind of 'educated' my mind to realise when I am on a downward slope, and can usually pick myself back up after a few days, but then I can have times when I am down for months. I have tried all kinds of tablets, but never found any that worked for me. I honestly don't think there is a magic pill that will solve everything, but find that speaking about how I am feeling is the best thing. Each person is different, and I know it may not suit everyone to talk, but to get how you feel, and the frustration off your chest is great. Then again, sometimes I don't want to talk, but just left alone.
I wish all fellow sufferers best wishes, and know with the right help, you can beat this debilitating illness.

Would just like to say hello to one and all....................

Our thread has been very quiet today and hope it is because you have all been busy entertaining or being entertained... can actually smell the scent of flowers wafting past my nose..reckon a lot of you received these from family.

By arrangement I made contact with my son this morning, he lives in Brisbane W.A... my dil answered and when I wished her happy mothers day her reply was ' but it isn't until May!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reckon they have really settled down in their new country which can only be good.

No more news to impart right now but just hope that each of you have been as pain free as possible xxxxxx

Until tomorrow,

Take care,

What are we doing on page 6 ??, Hi Vicky, lovely to see you on here, are you getting plenty of rest and relaxation. I'm pleased you were able to write your thoughts and feelings down, it helps a lot to get it off your chest. I don't know if you have read from the beginning but we have some heartbreaking stories, then we see peeps starting to pick up and a real heartwarming post from Caroline, she was so scared of taking her tablets, bless her, now she is confident enough to help others. Thanks Carolina if you are reading.
Where are you peeps who post on here, I get out of bed to come and read a few pages and you all seem to be well again.
Had a good long rest with my feet off the floor and feel a bit better, for a few days there it felt like walking on broken glass. Bit better today so came down to have a read, see what you are all up to.
Sorry to hear about your aunt Twinkle.
I'm leaving you now, may be back tomorrow, going to watch Dancing on Ice, then back to bed.

My step daughter came up and gave me a lovely card and some money to buy genealogy stuff, nothing from my lot.
