NO PANICKING YOU GUYS, OKAY.

Breaking news this morning being, pills for anxiety/depression do not work ....

But when you get a professional person discussing the to's and fro's a different picture emerges....this person was live on TV following the announcement...
and actually discussing the individual person and reactions to such drugs...

take me for instance.. aspirin does not work for me whereby 99.99% of the population it does work for.....

I know you will be glued to your chairs, and who wouldn't be, when you listen to this news announcement. I will be listening with you all and hope many sane persons will discuss this subject in full and with the the sensitivity needed...

Love you all,

Oops......... now have my knickers in a twist.......

when I mentioned sane persons I was referring to TV bringing on sane persons to discuss this delicate subject...

not some jumped up politician or money grabbing maniac who would not know their arse from their elbow or even pain in their pubic hairs. lol.

Reckon I had better shut up and get off this thread before I am hung, drawn and quartered.

Love you all.

hi gran it has been a bad year for snakes there was a write up in our local paper about a snake that had a week's air conditioned holiday it had gotten into the house by a small hole in the fire place the lady of the house moved out until it was found and I don't blame her the snake handler had a hell of a time the snake had been without food or water for a week not a happy snake rather him than me but you have to have rock's in your head to want to handle snakes.

AnnCardiff Report 26 Feb 2008 09:07

hi gang - please don't mention snakes, I have a pathological fear of them - can't even look at a picture of one without cringing!!! yuk, yuk, yuk

Deanna

Deanna Report 26 Feb 2008 17:54

heard that Joyce.... well they work for me.

I recently had to stop them over a period... not all at once, as I had to have some tests for ( bleeding from the bladder)
a nightmare examination... humiliating, but they did not find anything.

I stayed of them for a bit, thinking that I would be okay.... no way!
I started to turn into a 'sullen old hag'.... wasn't interested in talking to anyone and quite happy just to sit in my own little world... miserable!
That was never like me, I am your original village idiot!!
I laugh at things and try hard to take the wind as it blows....
A week back on them and I was fine again.
Does that make me *mad?*

gran of OZ.... they should not behave towards you like that about your fear of going out.
My clinic knows about me and I have a wonderful lady comes out to me when I need her.

I certainly would not be going by bus... alone!!

I saw on the news that studies have shown that some anti depressants don't work it's mind over matter really. And that with other forms of support patients can do as well. Hooray!!! Yes other forms of support can be as good but where are they!?

Good night all, I'm meeting my new psychologist tomorrow at 11am. Not looking forward to that! xx

Good luck with the new psychologist Carole. As you said, where are all these other means of support? If they are available they take months to access, when you need them now!
And with the possible placebo tablets, yes it is mind over matter but only because the patient doesn't know they are a placebo and believe they are being helped!

Take care, all, my second visit to counsellor this pm.

Gail, how awful they have treated you so badly, I would try and make a complaint to the relative authorities. Is there a different gp you can go to so he gives you the support you need to get the home visits. I do feel for you, I have had to push so much to get the mental health help I need and hoping there is light at the end of the tunnel for me.
Good luck love,

Hope your visits to phsycologist goes ok Carole and Liz, sometimes I wish I still had mine visiting.
Gail I would put a few wriggly things in office as well, browns if you could get one, that'd shift them lol.
I am at a loss as to why they won't come out if you are disabled, I'm disabled, don't like it obviously but it does give me some advantages, one being people come to my house. The district nurse came once to take blood but she had a struggle to get needle in so I ended up having to go to hospital for it, that one backfired on me,
Morning Liz if your still up, nice to see you again Betty.
Deanna I will get round to pming you, seem to have no tiime these days.

What a night, living in Lincoln the earth quake was very strong, and the noise sounded like a vulcan landing on my roof. Couldn't get to sleep, and felt quite sick after it. No damage this morning.

Been to appointment this morning with new psycologist, and guess what... cancelled cos she phoned in sick!! Receptionist said they phoned my mobile which I got out and checked but no missed call, they didn't ring me! They didin't have my home number on their records? ! Next appointment Wed next week. I get so up tight, stood on their door step desparate for the loo then as soon as she said I didn't have to see anyone instantly went away! Strange isn't it.
Will read through thread later I'm so tired right now!
Love to you all xxx

Oh Carole. that's a pain, to get there and be told that. Hope she doesn't make a habit of letting you down.
I hope mine is ok today, I'd better get a wriggle on and get ready, just wanted to see if everyone was ok after last night, well this morning's, quake.
I blinked and missed it really, see my Spooky thread.
Gail, you must feel very let down, I don't know how you are supposed to deal with that if there isn't another doc handy.
Take care everyone, sorry no time to reply to all posts, mustn't make myself late.
