well Elaine - that was one way to get seen quickly hun - you feeling OK now I hope. Must have been very frightening for you but at least you've had a thorough check over now. No doubt your GP will get a report from the hospital now - give him a ring and see what's what.

Carole Report 23 Feb 2008 22:26

Elaine I'm pleased you felt funny in Boot's at least now you have been checked over! Was it panic and anxiety with you worring about the chest pains? It happened to me once in a restaraunt years ago. It took years before I could go back in there, and now I only go in when it's going to be quiet. Please let us know how you feel tomorrow xx

Joyce this thread isn't a month old and so many have posted, I really am suprised. I was reading replies to a post by Ann GG about the man who died when he jumped off the balcony abroad with his children. A few said how they didn't think what he did was right but could understand it. I thought there were a lot of people who could empathise with him and his depression. I started the thread thinking it might get half a dozen replies and die a death. I'm so amazed it's kept going. I can't wait each day to check on how all my friends are. Lots have been very honest telling stories that are not easy to tell. They deserve respect for that in this public place.
I think we all find it a sort of place to off load worries.
To come back and see a reply personal to me means someone has taken time to think of something supportive to say. Don't know what everyone else thinks. Joyce I don't know what to say to you being grateful I don't feel like it was anything. But it seems wrong to say that! xx

Lady Rach pleased it's cheered you up posting and reading the other replies on here. Nice to have you here with us.xx

Ann in Glos, you will soon need to take a day
off sick to catch up with everyone on here! lol
Or you could read faster !! xx

Anyone miss me?
Want to take a wild guess at why I've been off here (and in withdrawal from the thread)?
My flipping papers caught up with me, lost my phone, long distance,TV satellite and internet all at once - hadn't paid the bill for a while apparently and they suspended my account. Can you believe it, Suspended ME!! Innocent ME!!

Well - I was so upset with myself that I took one of the remaining boxes of papers, and am ashamed to say that when I opened 72 envelopes,I found bills from 2006 still unopened. As I couldn't get online, I spent yesterday afternoon shredding literally over a years worth of statements etc.
If I hadn't had to try and settle my granddaughter down last night, while her Mum was studying, I'd never have stopped the sorting, didn't even eat lunch.

OK now I am down to one box and a small bag of papers. But I'm only on here because I'm at work, and have to get back to it.
Thanks to all for your caring support,, without you lot, I doubt I would have been able to tackle the first pile of papers, let alone yesterdays pile. In another time, I would have taken to my bed and cried because i couldn't deal with having to talk to the phone company, and admit my inattention to important details..
Hugs to all,
maxiMary

Hi Mary, well haven't you done well? Sometimes it takes a crisis to make things happen and this has been yours, from now on the only way is up! Why not get yourself a Do It Now file and put bills in so you deal with them quickly and set up direct debits if you have a regular income so you can be sure the money is there when they are due? Would be all under control then.
The one thing I have done lately is get most of my stuff sorted like that, and now I check my account on line every day, and make sure there is enough to cover the bills and see what is left for spending (not a lot lol)
I am sure once you are back on line and up to date, you will feel lots better about everything.
Sending positive thoughts for you
Lizxx

Elaine, glad you were in the right place when you felt unwell and that you soon got checked out and ok'd to get home again.
Maybe you will feel a bit better now you have had all the checks, after all if there had been anything to worry about they wouldn't have let you home.
Do you have rescue remedy with you for those panicky times? You could just go to a quiet place or the loo and put some drops on your tongue and hopefully that would help you stay calm. I think there is even a spray rescue remedy now so you just squirt a spray into your mouth, bit like an inhaler.
Hope you feel better today

Hope everyone has had a good night's sleep, and have a nice Sunday.

YorkshireCaz Report 24 Feb 2008 07:10

Hi Gail, suppose Liz is in bed by now, but if not Hi Liz. I know what you mean by the effect this thread has on us, I think it's not so much the suppport, that is there anyway or we wouldn't bother coming back. It's the way we have become friends in such a short time and care for each other, l have said before it's like holding hands around the world. We worry if someone is missing for a while, we can have a laugh, seems strange when we are down and depressed but with us understanding each other, we can let go for a time and just be 'us'.
To an outsider it would seem odd for peeps to take the micky out of me because I had fallen and hurt myself badly, saying I am practicing being a stuntwoman and such. To me it's what I need, and the lovely peeps on here understand that without being told. If they got all sympathetic and maudling, what good would it do, make me worse wouldn't it. Oh I'm rambling, sorry, I'll give over.
I just meant to say that is why this thread works, understanding how bad depression is and being able to share with friends to the point we cheer each other up.
What a load of rubbish but I'm not doing it again, I had a bad night painwise, plus worrying about someone on here who is going through a really bad time at mo.
Oh I'm going for a cuppa and painkillers, might feel more human when I come back lol.

How do you know I am lovely Gail lol. I feel better now after tablets and cuppa, my back was giving me some gyp. I am so tired this morning, and I did absolutely nothing yesterday, hubby is home today so he will make sure I sit and watch some DVDs, didn't again yesterday.
Hows your hubby now Gail? and you after your flu, I'm hoping I don't get a cold or anything as I have to go into hospital if I do, it's a chemo thing, makes me scared to go out into crowds.
Oh well, time to get hubby up, he usually has to get me out of bed but this morning I couldn't stand laying down any more.

Hi Gail, I'm glad he is home as well, I feel rather weird like I did when hairdresser was here so I'm going back to bed. Can't fall there, although I have been known to fall out of bed before today. It's surprising what we can dig up and some of it is really surprising, I found one of mine was offered a knighthood but his wife didn't want to join the hoi poloi as she called it.
Caroline, hope things went ok for you, let me know love, I'll look in as soon as I'm up.
Joyce sorry about last night, I'm still annoyed at him as it was a great letter but stiil laughing at your reply, catch up later today.
Jules can't seem to get all my mail done but will catch up, latest photos are great.
To everyone else I have missed Hi and have a good day.

Good morning everyone.

Caz, that is why they got me this bungalow.
I used to climb the stairs one at a time.... with a rest in between each one!! ;-0)
On the way down.... I had to come down 'backwards' on my knees or I would have fallen too.

AND Caz.... there are much better ways of keeping supple love.... x

Have a good day everyone, I'm still in my PJ's. I hope to feel a *surge* of energy soon... :-0)

Yes Liz, another one of my favourites.... *today is the tomorrow I worried about yesterday, and all is well*..... I think it was my mum who taught me that one.

I did not get your worry Dave (thread getting so huge) but look after 'you' and have a nice day.

Hi gang - happy Sunday to you all - I think we should all buy the Sunday Observer today - there is an article in there called "How Depression makes you stronger" It's just been aired on Sky News this morning and apparently it's promoting a book on the subject which highlights how people who suffer from depression can become stronger because of the illness. I for one shall be buying it [when I rouse myself to have a shower and get dressed that is] I like the Observer anyway cos I just love their cryptic crossword.
