Thanks Deanna, yes I think finances (or the lack therof) and the fear of debt and losing security of my home etc, fear of being unable to retire and live comfortably are probably at the bottom of it.
I've had to assume a HUGE amount of responsibility since my daughter Colleen was left on her own with 4 kids, 2 of whom have special needs. we now live in 2 parts of a du-plex, which I've bought for mutual support. But her finances are more strained than mine, she has an unreliable ex who conveniently forgets to provide support for the children, therefore I am called on to provide far beyond the norm. My daughter has returned to school 2 years ago, and at the end will command a very good salary, but we need to get to that point. I am due to retire dec 1st and am frightened what will happen then.
Sorry I am probably being too forthcoming here but, appreciate the chance - in case someone can wake me up.
Thanks

Romany, glad you got the appointment over, what a winning smile you must have now lol

Deanna, well done for sorting stuff out, a bit at a time is a good idea!

Mary, we sound like twins lol You tho' have much more to worry about than me, my son is pretty much self sufficient, so I only have me to worry about.

Mary, you are doing a wonderful job as a mother and a grandmother - more power to your elbow I say and it will all be worth it in the end, and as for your daughter's ex, well there are no words to describe someone who just abandons his responsibilties just like that - it'll come back and bite him on the bum one day - have no doubt whatever about that!!

hooray for everyone doing good!!!

Mary you are a star well done for off loading your troubles. Therapy I hope for you.

Liz I think that is part of my problem. I am expected to be perfect! My sister isn't too bright! I was expected to look after her, I was the clever (ha ha ) one, she was the pretty/cute/ funny one. I had to be relied on. I didn't want the responsibility then I couldn't cope with it, and the expectation from my mum. Even now I sort out parents problems on money, bills, banking, tax, pension. Mum can't understand it, dad is unable to talk since his stroke. Sister is the practical one, helps in cleaning, garden and so on. I can't be perfect, and responsible. Wonder where my psychologist will take me with what I find myself telling her.

Rebeka so today you got away with not having the tooth out! It would have been over with now! But instead you will have to go through it all again going to the hospital! I can't say anything, I have a broken tooth, which I'll keep, cos I am so affraid of the dentist. While it isn't causing pain it's ok!!! lol

Jules pleased you had a good time with your daughters. Was it hard work? Mine is 25 so not like a child needing looking after. Don't know how long she will stay, untill she and boyfriend decide what to do next, where they will go to take foreign student teaching certificate.

Yorkshire Caz ~~~~to you if you look in. I'll write to you soon. xxx

Carolina it may not sound a lot to some but the fact that you were focused and interested to cook a meal is good news. I'm really pleased to hear that, as it shows you have made a fantastic improvement.xxx
I feel silly sometimes when people say well done to me for going to the shops. I think why well done I'm an adult they go out all the time! But it's not easy for me. It is easy to stay home and do nothing. So really I know I did do well to go out. It's a funny feeling like pat yourself on the back, then take it away it's just normal why should I be told well done for doing something normal?

Deanna do you also keep everything? The fact you are doing clearing is good it shows you are also feeling brighter, to be even bothered to get off the sofa and do something. Well done xx

Ann GG ~~~~~ keep taking the tablets we can see you are doing well on them. Always a funny word from you xxx

Fi Wheelie Spice are you still looking in? And Marilyn & Patricia xx
Love to you all xxxx

right, I'm back now - my lovely friend Jill hs just left - she's been my rock since Lawrence died, would not have coped without her support and love - she is a true friend and we do have such a laugh together, We have the same warped sense of humour and her life hasn';t been a bed of roses I can tell you. So happy to see everyone on here is doing so well at the moment. Still not heard from Ruby slippers which is worrying me a bit. I have pm'd her and do hope she gets in touch soon. She's a real sweetie.

I am still taking the tablets by the way - would be a mess without them - my lovely happy tablets which literally have saved my life!!

Love and hugs to all my lovely friends on this thread

mary . I tend to get caught sometimes thinking were's the money going to come from what am I doing wrong if it keeps going like this we'll lose the lot.then I stop myself and remember the words of two expurts on money matters My mum. pay your rent pay you elec and always have food in cupboard the rest can wait they can't get blood out of a stone and my accountant if your paying your bills your doing better than most that brings me back to ;looking at what i have. I own all the clutter in my house, a clapped out camper bus that we don't use cause we work all the time, a boat that hasn't seen water for year's, the love of the animals in my house (2 and 4 legged one's ha ha) i have a roof over my head and food in my tum and I feel alittle better . you've done a wounderful job in the past you just need to belive in yourself and your daugther will be there for you as you have been for her . chin up hugs irene

Irene, that is very positive thinking, you do so well to stay that way!
Have seen Mickey Drippin' post before somewhere and whether male or female, they will be welcome here, sad to lose a Mum whether with Alzheimers or any other illness, but with Alzheimers, like a second death almost. My sympathies MD if you see this.
Ann - glad you have such a good pal.
Will catch up with others later, this computer keeps chucking me off the IP.

Jules thanks for asking about me, Hi to everyone, not been on for a long time as I can't seem to get out of my black cloud, just sinking deeper. My fall effected me more than I thought and with everything else piling on top I feel I can't cope anymore, I look in every day but can't post yet.
Thanks Carolina and Julie for keeping me going.

Love to all

Oh Caz, sorry you aren't feeling good, hope things get better for you very soon. Glad you can keep looking in at least, and that you are posting now.
Wish I could wave a wand for you, if only huh?
I make such a great fairy! (elephant lol)
A couple of summers ago I dressed up as the Sugar Plum Fairy for a party, couldn't even keep my flaming wings straight and my tiara kept falling over my specs, but I do have my wand somewhere, now where did I put it?
Take care, hon,
(((( gentle hugs))))
