you are so right Ann - we have not had any bullies on here and we certainly don't welcome them, so if anyone has any ideas of bullying anyone on this thread, think again please - this is a safe and welcoming thread for anyone with problems - no place for bullies

Hello Guys
Just been reading through this thread, I am amazed at how supportive you all are of each other!

When i was 20 after i had my little girl i suffered with post natal depression after that its pretty much gone downhill from there, ive been on a mixture of amytriptyline, prozac and fluoxitine for the past 9 years, ive had councilling, family counciling, group therapy you name it.
Its been a long struggle but I seem to be getting on well for the past 6 months, with the help of my hubby who is brilliant! not to mention very patient!
Its very true what someone mentioed earlier that its not a case of pulling your socks up! its long process it takes one day at a time and of course its you that sets the pace of your recovery.
with the support of great friends you can face anything and its really great knowing now there are some fantastic people here on this site to offer their support!

Hi Mary-lou - here I am at this time in the morning humming "Hello Mary-lou, goodbye heart"!!! Glad to hear you're on the mend - I'm not usually up this time of the day but can't sleep so thought I'd check on the thread which as you can see has been running for quite a while now! Most of us on here have mental illness problems of one kind or another and we all try and help each other with encouragement and advice - it's a great feeling and I'm sure has been a lifeline for many. I'm fine because I keep taking the medication [Clinical depression] - so really I feel a bit of a fraud. I feel very protective towards anyone suffering from mental illness because I worked in our local psychiatric hospital for nearly thirty years and saw what stigma there is - I always talk about the problems I had before my diagnosis [massive overdose] because I feel, like most of us do, that if you don't talk about it like any other illness you may have, it will be swept under the carpet and that is something we must never ever do - it's an illness like mumps or flu!!

Keep posting Mary-lou, we all look out for each other on here

Love Ann X

Hi every one and welcome to all our new members.

I had just caught up to all of you after MIL was sick, and you have been so busy it will take ages to catch up again, but I cannot miss any of your posts, so will read a page a day of back issues till I catch up.

MIL's birthday party was lovely. She was so excited she forgot to open her presents and has been opening them over the last couple of days, a bit at a time to make it last.

I managed to get a small cross that belonged to her mother and glued it to her photo album, it is the only posession she now has of her mothers. MIL told me it is over 100 years old, one of her nieces gave it to me for mil. I knew it was precious, but should have also realaised what it would mean to MIL. We took her photo album and family tree to the party, and it was great as everyone wanted to look and ask MIL questions about who was who.

That 80 th is over and my dad's is in November, and he has asked me to do an album and tree for him. I already have a lot of his tree so will not be as big a job as MIL's.

I love to keep my brain busy, so doing the family trees is a very good way to do this.

Love to all of you

Gail

I'm here Ann, just a bit fed up and like Liz not wanting to post much. Didn't put computer on while teatime yesterday, it keeps freezing and I haven't a clue why.
Going to lie on bed later and read as my hips are very painful this morning, so if I am missing I am ok just resting.

Gill where are you, will you let us know you are ok, or pm me. I might not answer right away though.

Good morning to all my happy posters, say's she, who is bleary eyed catching up on too many day's postings.
T'is absolutely brilliant to see so many more new people joining our happy band of rogues and thieves, thinking of changing my screen name to Maid Marion..would it suit me. lol.

I know I said I was reporting back for duty Carole but my toy boy popped in and whizzed me off to Paris again, unfortunately we got caught up in the new Heathrow terminal building madness, end of romance, so sad..lol.

A bit like Gail I do have a lot of catching up to do and would like to welcome Eileen, Mary-Lou and Kathy aboard.. there might be another person called Victoria who posted yesterday on GC and is looking for help and advice, I told her of this thread so look out for herxx

Hi to Jules,Betty,Mary and Anne G xxxx

To our Gill.. listen to all your friends who are looking out for you, not to the idiots who enjoy testing you..you have made great strides already and will go far, just stick with us lass xxxx

Ann Glos xx As you say, anyone daring to enter our thread and cause misery with bullying will wish they had never been born

Y Caz I believe, has gone off with the milkman or maybe she is 'following in the van and not dilly dallying on the way'..but saying that t'is not moving day, yet!! unless she is doing a runner on us all..lol.

Deanna, what can I say..will you stop prancing and dancing about, you have given me a headache with all those 'happy pills' of yours... and what do you mean when you say ' we will have a giggle when I am fit enough', am fit enough for you any day..lol.

Not a lot has happened in my neck of the woods but I do have a hole in my lounge wall? I took down my clock to change the hour, the 'hook' fell out bringing a load of plaster with it, clock is now propped up under the window and I am looking for a plasterer... any offers..

No computer lesson to report back on, the one last week went without a hitch sorry to say..we have a fortnight off for Easter????? which was last week ????
having to go with College times and all that jazz..

Oh yes, my neighbour popped in yesterday to tell me how her daughter's wedding went... bearing in mind I got married in 1950, in a hand made suit, in a church with only ten attendees, reception being in my OH lounge, food prepared by neighbours.. food consisted of ham and beetroot sandwiches, fairy cakes, jelly and ice-cream and cups of tea (food rationing still in existence).. reckon the whole lot cost us say £100..
and there was no honeymoon.. back to work the next day...

This neighbours daughter was married in a castle, drawbridge, turrets, jesters, trestle tables and serving wenches..the whole lot..cost for hire of castle and feast alone came to £20,000.. told my daughter about this this morning and she replied ' but mother you don't really live in the 'real world'... just glad that I don't!!!!

Right, am away to look for a plasterer but I do have plenty of chewing gum I could soften and plug the hole with, do you reckon it would work? lol.

Lovely to chat to you all again, take care and have a good day, if possible.....

Love,

JoycePxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Get yourself some iron tablets and see what happens! we could even prance around together...xxx

Gill, don't you dare stop coming on here.
This is our patch for peeps who NEED shoulder to cry on , and peeps who HAVE a spare shoulder to be cried on.

We will allow you a *rest* until you pluck up the courage to say "£"$%^&*&"& off.... to your problem! But after that.... we expect to see you back. xxx

Ann, you've got it.... that was my mum...
tee hee.

See you all later, I have work to do.... a phone job for son, and a load of washing for me and OH.... better do it or they will both *beat* me when they come back from the clinic!! ;-0)

See you all later.... after my beating!

We are supposed to be safe on here.

I always like the adage, Do not criticize anyone until you have walked a mile in their shoes.

Because of the nature of this thread we take everybody 'sight unseen'. If people say they are ill and or suffering then we give support, why should somebody pretend to be ill for the sake of it? Of course they don't. We give support and that is the way it will stay regardless of what anybody on or off this thread suggests.

Hi everyone
Just caught up on the thread and am so angry. Gill I will pm you but I wish I knew who was doing this to you.
Kathy it is disgusting about having to take stuff to the hospital, what do we pay taxes for!!
My dads name was Don and when we went to IOW other week to put flowers on water (have done this now for 4 years) there was on bird bobbing up and down on the water, I said to my mum 'look dad's come back as a duck on his favourite stretch of water, we will call the duck Donald after him' I realised then that it would be Donald duck and we laughed and thought it had to be my dad 'cos that would have suited him down to the ground lol
Hi Mary-Lou
Liz hope you feel better soon
Y Caz, see how you have been missed, we are going to need an attendance book soon to keep track of everyone, Take care
Where is Carole?
