Hello everyone.

I had a great day out yesterday, had a lovely meal, and nice company.
My son and his best friend, whose birthday it is today.
They have been friends for years, and it is lovely to see them now grown up and still so close.
Platonic friendships DO WORK!

Allan did not feel too well so gave me the money for the meal for the three of us.... nice man my husband.

We had a laugh, a reminiscent chat and thanks to my happy iron tablets.... I was fit for the occasion.

Hope you all have a lovely day today. I am having a restful one today.... by choice!

I think my mum would have been " so ashamed..." ;-0)

Sounds like a good day you had, what a pity your OH was unwell and unable to go with you, still, nice of him to pay!

hi everyone
Yes a nice morning here too, washing out, daily chores done and I am even doing a bit on my kitchen ready for decorating. I know it will take forever to do but I know I will get an enormous amount of satisfaction knowing I did it. It's amazing how a bit of sun can make you feel so much better.
Hubby forgot about the clock and when I told him I have never seen him move so fast, up, dressed and out in ten minutes,NO not to work -to Golf.
Love the funeral stories, my sense of humour too
I may be repeating myself here but for newbies--- my dad wanted his ashes scattered on the Solent, IOW side, all the family went down and the job was given to my youngest brother (who thought he was the only one who knew dad's wishes) we let him do the deed, the water was still and he went down the steps to the water side, with tears in his eyes he said 'goodbye' and tipped the ashes out of the urn. Suddenly a wave came up and wet him through, it just came out of the blue. We were sranding above looking over the wall and when it happened we all fell about. It was just as if my dad was playing his last joke- he loved a good laugh and had a wicked sense of humour but it made us feel better (if you know what I mean)

Janet, I chuckled to think of your Dad up there commanding the waves to play a joke on you when you scattered his ashes. who knows????

Deanna, I KNOW my mother would have laughed at the irony of the situation, she had a wonderfully warped sense of humour (a bit like me!!). She, who had never done anything wrong deliberately in her life, had a police escort to her grave. Bless her heart, I am sure she was laughing at the shock on our faces, our prim and proper Mum in a police car! LOL.

Evening all

Took the son to hospital this morning .Is the NHS getting worse ? He is supposed to take his own packing and dressings .We went to 4 chemists yesterday including Boots and none of them had what he needed in stock so we had to go empty handed today and I explained to the receptionist .
Has been sunny most of the day and I intended doing some gardening but as usual got side tracked .
Following on the funeral theme on the 1st anniversary of my mums passing I declined going with my sister to the garden of rest .I decided to buy a single red rose and take it down to the river when the nursing home was where she died .I sat on the grass and admired the river and lovely little birds .I put a thought up to mum and threw my flower in the water .Just then a big sea gull landed only a few feet from me and stared at me for several minutes it then ran towards me and squacked in my face before flying away .I thought typical of mum she couldn't come back as a cute little bird !!!! ( she always had to have the last word )
It did make me smile though

Good evening everyone...Phew back down to just the 3 children again now...What a beautiful sunny day we had as well, perfect for the kiddies tp play at the park...Ive had a strange day today, been feeling anxious for most of it but dont know why..Am calming down now im sitting here relaxing..How i wish i could wave a magic wand and be the "old kerry" again...Got some new vitamin b complex yesterday so might be them getting in my system..

Yes Ann it was a lovely day, and Allan had a nice rest... today too so lets hope he benefits from it all week.

If it was me coming in a police car... I wold have laughed and expected all my people to be in hysterics over it too.
But my mother would have been humiliated. When she was in hospital, she asked me to bring her in a couple of big towels so that she could have a bath.
I opened the airing cupboard and grabbed two bath towels and took them in!

she nearly went apoplectic!!

She hid them back in the bag and said..
"bring me in GOOD TOWELS... ", she could not have people thinking that she was using towels like that!!

I don't think the hospital had towels as good as them !!
I certainly didn't. But I had to bring her in some *good* towels the next day!

No Mary... she would not have been amused by a police car at her funeral... bless her.
She was a good woman, I am not moaning about her.
