Len of the Chilterns Report 13 Jan 2008 22:20

Photocopier supplier Canon has to handle a 25per cent rise in service calls during the festive season, according to a report on CNET news.

The reason is spelled out by a London employee of the company, who says ' We always fit lots of new glass to copiers after New Year due to 'rear-end copying'.

Cracked glass caused by the practice of photocopying backsides during Christmas and New year office parties has apparently become so common that Canon has had to make the glass on its machines 1mm thicker.
It is speculated that another reason for this may be the supersizing of the western physique.

That brings to mind the sign that used to be on the cooked meat counter at the butcher's shop my mother used when I was a kid. It read -

Please do not sit your child near the bacon slicer. We are getting behind with our orders.
