Oh when i am gone my dear one
cry no mournfull tears
when i lie dead and cold dear one
all of me youll have left are the years
nor my dignity insult not by pity
to no man was i ever servile
against none did i harbour enemity
nor sought men to defraud by guile
No envey me no-nor may none revile
for a victim ive lived to my class
here i shall sleep some passing while
peacefully 'neath the high grass

Once in a bloom of long forgot youth
when i dreamed the wildest of dreams
Adventurer bold in persuit of truth
of candy floss mountains gold filled streams
where great pine forrests reach into the cloud
and vast lakes boast waves like the sea
and the mists of morn a grey falling shroud
its gossomar shall covers me

Oh my dear one my mind turns to a when
setting suns a magnet where in my blood
a force driving me on-and- invitingly-then
and then---the pioneers of the past i understood
reckless desire brushes aside all fear
concidered not the mundane or the morrow
seeking the elusive dream-we hold so dear
with small thought to failure or sorrow
