To all Ellertons:The family of Ellerton come from Swaledale in North Yorkshire as they settled here after the Norman conquest and probably came over with the Normans.They have a family coat of arms and have been known in the past as Wycliffe and Stavely.John Wycliffe the reformer his grandmother was an Ellerton.So all you Ellertons out there need to be directing your searches in the above area. |
