Anita it depends what your intended use of the site is, if you intend to use it just as a way of making contact with others researching the same families then its really not worthwhile actually including the marriage. You can just tell contacts about the marriage. If however you want to use it to display a tree for your personal reference then you may as well download a free family tree program such as PAF and enter your data there, you can then upload a Gedcom file which bypasses the first cousin and other inter-family marriage problems. The site isn't designed to be online family history software, its not geared that way and so complex relationships can't be entered directly.

Thanks for the explanation. I have been trying to explain to members the same thing, that they should have their own family tree software and only use this site for the basic names. But you have done it much better than I. I am now on a new learning curve with the new threaded messages, great fun learning how to use them as it is different from others I have seen, but it keeps my brain active. Vera, Manchester, Lancs
