Hi, Have you tried applying for Emma Kidd's birth certificate? That should give you the name of her parents, then you look for their marriage thereabouts or earlier, and apply for the marriage certificate which usually gives you their fathers' names. Then you go back about 20 years and start looking for their births and so on. Step by step it builds. You really do need to see the information in as close to the original as possible. You can't take everything you find on a website as gospel. People make mistakes. Good luck with it, Jim, Gosport.

hiya....i am trying to find any information about my dad...he was born Arthur Mellor in Nov 1942,but he was adopted at the age of 6mths in July 1942. He was born in Buxton, Derbyshire. His mother was called Eliza Millward Mellor(b.8 Aug 1901 in Buxton), her father and mother was Robert Mellor(b.11 Oct 1876), and Emma (Kidd-b.10 May 1877). I really need more information on Emma(Kidd)Mellor as i have lots of information on Robert Mellor....thx
