Member Since: January 0001 Posts: 0 Send Message	This board is for tips, so here's one for all you newly hatched genealogists out there. Keep records. Write down, as soon as possible afterwards, what Great Aunt Griselda told you about her nan and grandad and their 7 children. And another thing is to make sure you have a copy of everything. Putting yourself and Mum and Dad and Uncles and a couple of Grandparents on this site is just a tool to help you progress in building your family tree. It shouldn't BE your family tree. If you have a computer there is plenty of free downloadable Family Tree software available. And of course there is nothing quite like a Hard Copy. Good Luck with your reearch, Jim, Gosport.

Member Since: January 0001 Posts: 0 Send Message	If you go down the list on the left at GC and scroll down to the bottom. Click on "Links". Click on "Family Search" this will bring you into the LDS search site. Try to find and download a programme called Personal Ancestry File or PAF. It is excellent and free. Jim
