Yes, it's happened again. So how do I provide you with Michael and Jeanette Fancote's e-mail. I'm pretty inexperienced at this computer business. Can anyone help? Colin, WA

Jane, I've just checked my communication to you and notice that the relevant e-mail address didn't come up in full. Let me try it again now: [email protected] Is it perhaps incorrect to list someone's e-mail in the Guest Book? Colin WA

Jane, Colin Abbott here from Western Australia. I contacted the Fancotes and had a very interesting phone chat with Jeanette Fancote (Michael's wife). A truly astonishing tale begins to emerge, stretching back to the 16th Century! I'd better not go into it here, but can tell you that I wish they were my "rellies" and I really do hope there is a connection with you, Jane. Apparently there's been a book written on the Fancotes. Anyhow, the Fancotes are more than happy for you to contact them at: [email protected] They confirm that there do not appear to be many Fancotes in the UK. They must all be out here in Aussie...and why not...it's a beaut country! I would love to hear what ensues. Fingers crossed... that they're the people you are looking for,Jane. Regards, Colin H. Abbott Jarrahdale Western Australia.

This is yet more backup to my plea for a full list of Surnames submitted, that way we can see what alternative spellings there are. Jim, Gosport.

Hi Jane, This is Colin Abbott emailing you from Western Australia. In the 1970s I lived next door to a family of Fancotes. This was in Kelmscott which is about 25 kilometres south of Perth. Mr and Mrs Fancote are now dead, but I bumped into their son Michael about two years ago. Michael would be about 50 years old. I remember them all as being a very nice family. I believe they were one of the oldest families in the Kelmscott district. If this sounds interesting, I would be happy to try and contact Michael. I think he still lives in Kelnmscott. Cheers! Colin.

Jane There is a place called Fancott in Bedfordshire. Type the name on your search engine - I did and there are quite a few references. Unfortunately it is not in my Dictionary of Surnames. Yours Vera B, Manchester
