Hi Marly I'm not good with artists names, so havent heard of the ones you mentioned,nor the Blue Riders!!what are they. The platform one is one of my favourites.Did you see piccie of my unc,with paintings in background?? Jude

Janet Thank you.YYYYYeeeeeeeeessssssss we are so very proud.We knew of his talents years ago, our father told us and our uncle.I have seen my uncles work and have a pen and ink drawing of male ballet dancer.I have just found another site .Go to G-----, type Phillip Meninsky in search,go to bottom of page,it will say 'do you mean' Phillip Meninsky, click on that and go to NEW PAGE 1,there is my unc at one of his exhibitions.Click on a picture and it will enlarge.I have just printed one out,but my ink cartridge was a cheap one,so its gone all orangy.I have'nt seen him for years, such a lovely man and so talented and knowledgeable.He has been involved in Japenese POW, as he was a prisoner and still suffers from his injuries.(l have tears in my eyes now) Jude

What a fascinating story - so much so that I've just put 'Tate Gallery' into my search engine and I found 4 pictures by Bernard Meninski. They're lovely! Interesting how his style changed over the years - obviously influenced by Matisse towards the end. Well done - you should be proud! Janet Northamptonshire

Vicky Thank you, we are very proud.If anyone ever goes to the Tate, look out for Meninsky(Bernard) and also his son Phillip,he's not in the Tate,but he paints in pastels - mostly National Ballet dancers,absolutely exquisite!! You might see them on websites. Jude

you should be very proud , mostly of yourself for tracking the painting down and then letting all the family enjoy it as well , well done i hope i enjoy as much success as you vicky

Thanks each. It was emotional - l was working at the time, had students with me and their tutor,(l was c/rm ass),l even said to the shop assistant,that the original was painted by my grandfather, he was'nt impressed though!! the students thought l'd gone mad. Jude

Debra Yes, he was also war artist and correspondent,his son followed suit,for a short time we had paintings in our possession(sadly l sold mine)and some went to war memorial museum.Some still in the family.His son is a marvelous artist,but too old now l think to paint. Exciting is'nt it!! Jude.

Marly Oh yeh, the original is in Cardiff museum,they said l could possibly have a print,but along and lengthy and expencive process.His 2nd wife gave most of his paintings to museums all over the world,so this is really precious. Jude

About 18 months ago l was in Worthing Museum and came across a card on a stand and thought is'nt this lovely,when l looked closer it was a pen an ink print by my grand father Bernard Meninsky "Baby in Arms" the baby was my father,the arms my grand mothers.I immediately bought all l could afford at the time (3),phoned my sisters and went back and bought more, the last 4.We distributed them amongst family and of course we wanted more - well after many phone calls and emails yesterday l managed to get in contact with the company who made them - and this morning 10 more arrived.Atlast l can have one hanging in my lounge - they are beautiful.Going into town today to buy frame.Just thought you'd like to know!!!!!
