Im facinated by the Clilverd branch of my family because it was the one never talked about. I started this to find out about my grt grandparents as my grandmother would never talk about them , my grandmother on my fathers side never stopped talking about her family and had lots of stories but my mothers mother never even mentioned her parents first names, the only detail she mentioned was one was from France. 3 yrs on Ive found lots of info on family members what they did for a living but still not found the French ancestor, though a member of the family on genes said that he was told there was a connection to France as well.

I must admit that when I first started researching my Family Tree I wanted to get as far back on as many lines as possible. Then I started a hunt for collateral branches. Now I am finding it great fun to add what information I have about each of them. Some of the Mothers I only know the First Name. Some of the others I have pages of info. Funnily enough I get more of a kick when I add a snippet of information to an ancestor's record than I did when I found them in the first place! Jim

I know it's easy to look up on-line information but where possible is'nt it much more exciting going to records offices and looking up a copy of the real thing. I get quite a buzz finding the entries on Parish register's etc. Also isn't it good to find out more about people and what they did rather than forging ahead to see how many names you can find. Good job we are all different Ann,Darlington
