Hi All I am also new to this. I have been uming and ahing about trying to the family tree for a few years now. Never really new where to start. If anyone has any useful tips, they would be more than welcome. Thanks

Welcome. Start with all your relatives and ask them who, what, how, where and when. A good place to look is under general info on the bottom left of this page. If you need any help just ask - someone will come up with the answer. Also if you look under search there are quite a few Shingletons.
