Am about to email all of you who have said yes to 15 November - I'm going to Bristol on Thursday and hope to come back having found and/or booked somewhere suitable. I think there are 12-14 of us, but if you would be kind enough to reply to the email before Thursday I'll have a clearer idea. If anyone else is thinking of joining us let me know before Thursday please! Thanks! Sue

Marion - Will check it out on Thursday. Sue

The Beaufort is a Harvester. It didn't get such a good rating as the Parkway but it needs someone to pay a visit first. I have found harvesters a bit expensive in the past with not much scope for veggies. But it is a long while since I've visited one. Marion

Harvesters usually have a good menu with a free salad included (usually, I assume this one would be the same). Ann Glos

Drove past The Parkway(pub) this morning and it looks very nice from the outside. As you walk out of the station it faces you on the right. The other pub is just around the corner. Marion

Just returned from weekend away and noticed the message re Bristol Parkway. This would suit me very well, much more convenient than Templemead. Don't know if there is a link from T Mead to Parkway for Marley. Ann Glos

There is a website to check out the two pubs near Bristol Parkway, one is the Parkway 0.0 miles from the station and has a rating of 7/10. The other is The Beaufort Arms which is a Harvester- 0.3 miles from the station and has a rating of 6/10. http://www(.)beerintheevening(.)com/pubs/show(.)shtml/2453/ Marion

Thanks Marion - does that mean you'll come if we go there? Sue

Just a little suggestion, though it may be awkward for those who have other plans, there is a Harvester right on the doorstep of Bristol Parkway Station. It is easier to access from the motorway and there won't be too much walking to do. This would be more tempting for me than central Bristol! Marion

I'm going to Bristol next week and hope to come back with the venue sorted. Anyone else want to join us?

No, unfortunately no Knight connections in Bristol as far as I know, out Knight connections are in Dorset and Devon so far. I am attending Bristol because it is fairly near to Gloucester. Ann Glos

Unfortunately it is just a little too far for me to be able to join you but re a meeting place I used to know a great pub called The Mile Three (3 miles out of Bristol would you believe!!) Mind you this was nearly 50 years ago but I expect it is still there. I also used to know another place but I wouldn't want to subject you lovely ladies to it so will keep the memory to myself! Hi Pam - You're not interfering in the least! Would you like to join us? Your suggestion sounds very sensible - thanks. I don't know whether Ann Knight has connections in Bristol - hopefully she'll look at the thread again and contact you. Sue

i don't want to interfere but if you all get into the galleries carpark or even better frogmore street you will access some excellent restaurants where you gan have your reunion and don;t bother with park and ride. November won.t be all that manic. Who is the kNIGHT connection in Bristol? Best wishes pam brawn If you need directions let me know [email protected]
