Hi Bill I did reply on the tips board but it got lost! Our local paper is the Hull Daily Mail (Now for some reason called the East Yorkshire Mail though nobody calls it that!) If you go to www(.)thisishull(.)co(.)uk there is lots of info about the paper but they only have online obits back to 1999. You can ring 01482 327111 for back issues. Hope this helps Jeanette

Thanks Sheila. That is an awfully big help. Now I have the date of death, maybe they can pinpoint an obit. Thanks again. Do you know, does anyone know, the www. etc for the newspaper archive site?

The local paper is the " Hull Daily Mail". The offices are on Beverley Road in Hull, just out of the city centre on the road to Beverley, within walking distance of the railway station. Happy hunting...Sheila

Can anyone please tell me the name[s] of local newspapers for Hull, that were in being during 1975? Have established that my father died in Hull in 1975, and I would like to try to research any local papers for any obituary. Not knowing anything about him until recently, I would like to find as much as I can. Thank you Badger Bill, Worthing
