Sandra I'm sorry to tell you that family history is an incurable diseaseand the only palliative treatment is visiting record offices, websites and badgering rellies for information etc. Its catching too. I started off the hard way writing it all out laboriously then invested in a programme called Pedigree which was really hard work and made me think too much. Then someone gave me Family Tree Maker and it all became plain sailing with the ability to print out all manner of charts and trees. Its an American programme and is heavily biased. If I was starting out, I think I would go for a UK orientated prog. Len

Hi Sandra and welcome to GC. Genealogy can affect your houseowrk! I used to worry about the house work a lot - didn't do much - but used to worry about it LOL! Margaret is right, throw nothing away as you will be amazed at how you might look for the info later on. Good luck in your search. I am in Edinburgh if I can help with anything Scottish.... Hi Sandra, Welcome to GC. Yes I had to delete my first tree and start again as well, and then delete half of the second one as I had left a generation out. Not too late to put yourself down on one of the Christmas get togethers if you want to. Janet
