Can't work out how to use 'Trying to Find' and am desperate to find my dad's biological mother, born in Ireland,she gave my dad up for adoption in 1956 in London

I believe you have to have someone with the surname you are looking for in your tree. Many people add a bogus person to their tree and then delete it later. It sounds a bit weird but I don't think there is another way round it from what I have read previously. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
