I know this is a bit gruesome, but can anybody point me in the right direction of what/where to search about a murder that happened in London c1900s. I do not have a lot of information about said murder , but I really do not know where to start. I have been doing family tree for around 9 months now, and I am now utterly insane!!

I traced a family murder where the husband was hanged for the murderof his wife in 1927 through an article in the local newspaper. They even e mailed a copy of the front page from that date with the original article and photo of the scene of the crime. Give them a shot. It could even be on line

Hi Angela, I asked a solicitor at work, and he said the Public Records Office would hold all old murder trial documents. The trial may well have been heard in the Old Bailey. Kathy

I have also traced a family murder, were an ancestor had murdered his wife in 1921. It was family here say but have proved it to be true. I have managed to obtain his and her death certificates, which make interesting reading. He was hung in April 1922 at Nottingham prison. Looking at the time scale of your research the murderer would have been hung if convicted. I came across a website that lists all hangings from 1800's to 1960's in which my ancestor was listed on. It tells you when and where they were hung. www(.)richard(.)clark32(.)btinternet(.)co(.)uk/contents(.)html Im still as yet looking for a newspaper article though.
