I e.mailed GC on Friday asking if they could somehow 'fix' this problem, i.e. an e.mail reminder a week or 10 days before membership runs out - I think mine's July. Got the standard reply! 'Thank you for etc'. 'your comments etc.'. have been passed to the design team etc.' So, will await events........ Sue.

You dont need to apologise Danny, we now know what a helpful person you are. I think in my case you were probably right anyway. June

Hi Nina, Your Tree was created on 12/11/2002. I am glad to read that I'm not going nuts....?!?! So nobody can really find out when their membership is due to run out, unless GC do something soon about sending out notification, like Friends Reunited do. Only finding out, when you're unable to e-mail somebody. I am sure this small problem will be sorted shortly. Regards, Dawn.

Glad you mentioned that Dawn. It is the date you created your tree not the date you paid your sub. I paid mine on 18/09/03, but have reloaded my tree since then. Let me know what date it says when you click on mine.

Back Again, I've been sitting here thinking. Danny Boy kindly had a look for me, when my membership expired and told me 14/11/2002. I am still able to send out e-mails and just realised that this is the date that I joined (as a non full member) and started to build up my Tree. It wasn't until 5 or 6 months later that I became a full member, paying five pounds. Are you's looking at the date of "tree created..."....?? If so, it does not necessarily mean this member became a paid member the same day, correct me if I'm wrong because this will answer why I am still able to e-mail other members. A Puzzled Dawn.

Thanks Clare, Thought that might be the case. I now have a bigger problem. That's not when I joined! I had to re-register (without paying again) because of a problem uploading an updated gedcom file. GC had to delete my whole tree, then had to re-load it, that's the date it was re-loaded! Debbie

Deborah, If you click on someone's name to send them a message and then the little envelope, a message comes up to say your membership needs to be upgraded. All you do then is pay and keep the registration details as when you first joined. Jacky

Interesting thread! Just checked Edit/View Details - expected to find it there. Would someone be kind enough to check mine please? Also, how do you re-new. If you go to Register, it says if you have already registered using 'this' name, registering here will create another registration?! Thanks Debbie
