Evelyn, I missed this thread when you first put it on but I am so glad that you found the site. It is interesting to have more people from other countries, whether ex brits or not. Good luck with your research. Ann Glos

Hi and welcome Evelyn., I'm near Vancouver, in Tsawwassen, and have been in the Vancouver area since 1961. I've been to Hundred Mile House once only. We usually branch off at Cache Creek to go to Kamloops and then down through the Okanagan. We overnighted in Cache Creek with some visiting English friends a few years ago. Quite a different experience for them, especially as it was stinking hot there. Hope you have a good time looking for your relatives. You'll find a lot of helpful people on this site and others. Good luck, Di. PS. Forgot to say I'm ex Brit from the Brighton area and others!

Hi Evelyn. I live in the States now, but my family is from Ontario. The only places I've been in BC are Vancouver and Vancouver Island (the usual tourist spots). Welcome to GC; you'll have a great time here!

Hi everyone. I live in 100 Mile House, British Columbia ,Canada. Yes, that's really the name of my town, we are 100 miles from Lytton, which is 100 miles from nowhere. I am an ex Brit. 35 years ago. I am doing some family digging and have found the whole exercise fascinating. I am definatly not related to nobility, shame about that!!! I used to work at the telephone company in Manchester in the 60s, anyone out there from that crazy crowd? How about any one who skated at Altrincham Ice Rink, apparently that's gone now. I enjoyed reading all the messages. I think I must qualify as an inbetweener, I am between 55 and 57, also between a rock and a hard place, between lunch and dinner, its 3.30pm here, between jobs, I am actually retired, I have children and parents so I qualify that way, I could continue, but I won't. Ciao f or now. Evelyn Gresty (used to be Cottrill)
