Hi I am a retired nurse Wife to 1 Mother to 4 Grandmother to 6 Besides doing the housework shopping cooking (but not the washing up him in doors does that ) and some of the gardening I am a banker(I don't give out loans I just pass money on that they owe one another) , caterer, child minder go-fer and listening ear to my 4 Kids To my grandchildren I am a helper with homework listener of reading cookery teacher and the person who lets them cut up, make and paint things without getting told off My hobbies are computers genealogy reading and travelling Bren

Ive done a variety of jobs from cashier to nursing in an old folks home. Im now at home full time looking after the last 2 children still at home, the others have now grown up and flown the nest. MY youngest suffers from ADHD and Mid Range Autisum. So if any one wants advice on tantrums, climbing the walls, and spinning like a dervish, (and thats just me ) give me a call. Im joking he is a lovely little boy, but very hard work. Hobbies: Reading, computor, geneology, music. Maggie

I work full time in a secondary school as the senior science technician, my youngest daughter works as a technician also and since semi retiring from the recording industry my husband thought he would have an easy life as our schools system and technical manager guess what we just got specialist technical college status ! mostly we just sleep on an evening but my hobbys are family history, music my 3 grown uo children and their partners only one still officially lives at home but sunday dinners are usually large affairs wouldnt have it any other way though. think working with chemicals may have pickled my brain but willing to try to help on any problems . best wishes sandra

I work in a school...to which I get paid but at home I am to name a few,Wife,Lover,Mother, Mother in law,Grandmother,babysitter,Head cook and bottlewasher,gardener,decorator,cleaner,washer woman,car polisher,holiday rep,map reader,DIY expert,born shopper,receptionist,dog walker,window cleaner,could say Im a jack of all trades !!!!!!! but isn't that what happens when you've been married 36 years. lynn

I am a wife of 1, mother of 4, mother-in-law of 2 and grandma of 4 of my own and countless 'surrogate' children & grandchildren! I am also a sister, sister in law, auntie, daughter in law, cousin and friend. I was a registered childminder for over 25 years but am now 'retired' - ha ha! My husband is disabled as a result of a motor bike accident in May 1995 and has mobility problems so I am a carer too I suppose. I still have 1 son at home so am chief cook and bottle washer (I have a dishwasher - make that loader and unloader!), laundress, tailoress, painter and decorator, gardener, cleaner, taxi driver, baby sitter, feeder of cats that got left behind when the kids moved out (you keep them Mum, they are too old to move to a new home!) I also make novelty birthday cakes for family and friends. I run creches for a charity organisation as an when I'm needed. On a Wednesday evening, and other times if needed, I work for a vehicle breakdown and recovery company answering phones and dispatching jobs to the drivers. I am a woman - I cope with most things! I wouldn't have it any other way! Sue

Was working as an IT consultant but came back down to earth with a bump. I'm now on the way back although I know not where I'm heading! Currently working as a call centre representative, answering phones and what not. As well as genealogy, I listen to a lot of music, enjoy doing photography when I can and follow Formula 1 and horse racing.

What interesting lives everyone leads ,I was a section manager for a large insurance company ,took early retirement a few months ago.Took up this hobbie five months ago . Reading and music are my other hobbies,I am divorced but have been really happy with my other half for 22 years,have one son,28,single ,two cats ,one dog and all that they entale.

After 2 children,I found a fill in job, to tide me over till THE perfect one turned up.19 years later I'mstill a Lollipop Lady at the local Primary.Last day of school today,cards,hugs,presents,........... Best Wishes all, Merry christmas, Bobby Heath Australia

I was a Lollipop Lady back in the 1980's when my children were young, Roberta. I really missed the children when I left the job to do other things. What I didn't miss were the sweets they would drag out of their pockets, that they'd been saving especially for me. I'm sure you will know what I mean! For the uninitiated, the sweets, varying in types, shared one characteristic - they were all covered in bits of fluff, and other bits and pieces to be found at the bottom of childrens coat pockets! I would offer my thanks, tell them how thoughtful they were, but say I would save it until later when I could really enjoy it! Parents - beware - your young children tell their Lollipop Ladies EVERYTHING ...... and I MEAN everything! You would be amazed what they see and hear at home, and can't wait to tell you on their way to school in the morning! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I've done a bit of everything including working in offices, a fish and chip shop, old peoples homes, nursing homes, a mental hospital, Avon lady, sales and field marketing. About 18 months a go I gave all that up to become secretary/director of our property refurbishment company where I do a bit of everything from typing to decorating. We have recently set up another company buying properties to let. I also have 2 children and 2 senile cats so have all the usual household chores and wiping up to do! My hobbies are genealogy, reading, listening to music, nosying round other peoples houses and going to see live bands (better than dead ones!). Jeanette

Hi All Left school and worked for Vaux Brewery & Wine Merchants in Sunderland for 6 years I moved into their Swallow Hotels division for about 10 years. After having my 'little treasure' we were all made redundant, and for the last 3 years have been in Foreign Exchange working for Airtours/Going Places.The part of the compnay that I worked for was taken over and now work for Travelex - who recently sponsored the Rugby World Cup TV Coverage. Also a mum to a four year old terror, housewife and packed lunch maker for my hubby!!!

Ive worked in a shoe shop, needed a lot of patience. Worked for a mail order catalog doing customer accounts. Worked in a family run local Hotel doing a bit of everything. Then I worked for my husbands business doing his books and acting as secretary. I now work in a supermarket as a checkout operator,(the one with the fairy godmother in the adds). Ive also brought up three children and helped with grandchildren run a home and cared for various pets. Freda

Wow what a busy bunch you don't realise how much us mums do until you write it down! I am a mum of 2 boys 11 and 8(eldest just gone to high school he seems to be learning well the art of how far to push your parents!! especially as he is very musically minded which is great, better when he has learned to play the instruments correctly he brought home a trumpet the other day to practice over Christmas!!) I work in a famous brand shoe shop and am also a qualified hairdresser. I have also a husband, Belgian shepherd dog and 2 cats I don't know which is worse. Family History is my sanctuary! love Jan x
