hi suzi welcome to GC.you'll find lots of new friends on here who will be only too pleased to help you. if you post a message on the records board giving names,districts ages etc we can do a look up on 1891 census.many of us have access to other census's as well. the 1881 census is free to search on line at www(.)familysearch(.)org,but remember to remove the brackets first..lol it also contains births deaths and marriages on this site hope this helps susie

Hi Suzi and welcome to genesconnected, the friendliest site on the internet! Remember when using familysearch, the Latter day Saint's site, that while it's a good site to get a rough outline of your family tree, it's not all necessarily 100% accurate, so it's advisable to check the information on other sites, such as freebmd, the transcription of birth records, and 1837online, images of the actual records. Two really useful sites for beginners are genuki and cyndislist. Also if you click on resource centre to the left, and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on links, there will be a list of useful web sites. Good luck in your search, Di.

Hi Suzi, More about the Latter Day Saints web site at familysearch. I've just found my notes about which records are reliable and which aren't. If you scroll down the page when you have located a name of interest, you'll see a batch code or film code listed. Those that start with a C, K, J (baptismal), an M or an E (marriage), or a P(printed or typed copy of a manuscript), are all reliable. Numerical codes or those starting with an A or an F are submissions made by mormon members and are not necessarily reliable, as they are often over eager to claim another member to the family and church. Good luck in your research. Just a little tip, please no offense intended, when you type, keep everything in lower case [bar opening a sentence!]. Upper case is considered to be the equivalent of shouting, and there are one or two out there that take offence [just ignore them] Ifyou can add an indicator after your name, [see mine] it gives others a rought idea of where you are from, but rest assured, no one can obtain you home address.
