We have a lovely Birman cat called Milo and I was wondering if any of you have a Birman. It is not a very well known breed out here in Australia. Sylvia

Hi Susie, I like dogs better than cats, but our Birman is my husband's pride and joy. He is losing his sight( my husband not thecat!)and Milo is his constant companion. We lost our little Maltese Terrier a few months ago and I would love another small dog, but I'm afraid , if we had one, that it would get under our feet, especially my husband's. I saw a lovely little white MalteseX in a pet shop the other day and was very tempted. Sylvia

Hi There I love Birman cats. Say one once and they are so wonderful. I have an English Longhair and he is brilliant, so intelligent. My son once had a penpal in Australia who's mother had Birmans, is it you? I would live a Birman but as Michael is nearly 11 I don't think it would be a good thing. Anyway, Happy New Year, hope yours is a Good One. Pat

Pat. I am pleased to hear that you like Birmans. They really are very loving and intelligent cats. I'm afraid ours is very spoilt though and very choosy about his food. He will only eat one particular tinned food, the most expensive of course, and if sometimes I can't get it, he refuses to eat for days. He also will only drink water from a glass tumbler on the draining board and likes a small saucer of milk too. At the moment he is lying on the bed just behind me. By the way, I am not the mother of your son's penpal. Regards, Sylvia in Australia and Happy New Year
