When I was little they were mine and my dads favorites.We had a Dutch couple satying with us who became friends of my parents and bought their own type of pontifract cakes when they vistited once.......yukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.......Dutch liqourice has SALT lots of salt in it. I live about three miles from Pontefract which was the home of liquorice because of its clay earth which the bushes liked. Sadly I dont think most of the Pontefract cakes produced today contain any liquorice at all. It's all chemicals. Bob |

I live in Australia and found potefact cakes in a Chocolate Box shop where they sell British lollies,they are so expensive,What is the name of another sweet which is flat and tasted like marzipan toffee. Brenda in Australia |
