He was Jesse Sargant and claimed that Max Miller (Thomas Henry Sargent) was his cousin (probably second cousin). My grandfather was born in Godstone, Surrey, Dec 29, 1879. His father was the Sargant of the coal merchants, Sargant & Martin. Where did Sargant become Sargent or vice versa? Any information gratefully received.
