Hi Angela You can go to your local Library or Local studies and look up the St Catherines index for free, which is the same as 1837 whichever is easiest. Regards Ann

If you have an idea of when and where the person was born, you can look for their name/place etc on freeBMD of 1837online to find the reg dist, quart, vol and page number. Once you have done this, send for the birth certificate, this will tell you the dob. Certificates cost £7
