Hi folks, I was born in the Mothers Salvation Army Hospital in Hackney but lived in Leyton. My Mum and Dad were both born & lived in Leyton. We left Leyton in 1959 when we moved to Wiltshire and from there we all emigrated to Australia in 1970. (Sure do miss Manses pie & eel shop). Chris

I'm not from East London but South West. I couldn't find another London link so thought I'd hi-jack this one. Mum's Dad from Camberwell, Mum's Mum from Paddington, Dad's Dad from Newington and Dad's Mum from Southwark. There's also mentions of Kensal New Town in the tree. Naomi

Hubby is an East Londoner - all his family are from Poplar - Isle of Dog's - further back Greenwich and Deptford. I have to say all his lot are the kindest most generous people, you may not see them for years on end but they all still hold old fashioned 'family values'. Some of our's make Peggy Mitchell look like a pussy cat when it comes to fam'ly. When I was 'fresh up from the country' and 'talked posh' it was a bit of a culture shock. All the kissing of cheeks and the 'God Bless', my lot would'nt dream of kissing any member of the family unless they were at deaths door! lol. Suex
