Hi Barbara The 1891 census shows an Alsops Boys home at Wood ST but no Alfred the man in charge is a Thomas Eaton The 1881 census shows an Alfred Alsop at 69 Gt Jackson St Hulme but there is no age or birthplace listed He is shown as the head of a school for boys Hope this is of some use Bren |

my family all lived in manchester but cant find them anywhere not even in the 1901 census!! my great grandfather( he had died before the census) Alfred Alsop started the shool which was a ragged school in Manchester. Anyone got any memoriesof it? The other branch of the family are the Kellys. |
