Anyone coming to visit Coalville don't be surprised when there's no car showroom on the left - East Midlands Housing has flats there now! The pub on the right used to be the traditional Fox and Goose but is now Minnesota's (yuk!) Lou from Leicestershire I'll go to London Road then as it's marginally nearer - and hopefully not in the rain!

lol it is a bit confusing huh? I'm not sure on the London Road question Lou. I was under the impression it was Coalville but as I say I don't know the area that well. Mike is there any chance you have census records for Leicestershire for 1871??? I'm trying to find Joseph Clamp b. Ibstock circa 1860. He's on the 1881 at White Hills, Hugglescote and Donnington as a coal miner and married but I'd like to find him with his own family before that and he's the furthest back I've got on that side. Would appreciate any assistance from that multitude of discs you have lol thanks. Lou

Hello Mike, My grateful thanks for doing this for me, it must of took you ages...me duck lol Did they not put ages down in those days, when they got married? I agree with you the top one is the one that I want. If you happen to go again to the record office, for yourself could you just check the birth of William Ringrose ab 1770 to 1780 parents were William Ringrose and Elizabeth Hurst I have it down as Knighton 1780 but then that is only from IGI on family search and they are not gospel like I say on his headstone it says died aged 40 in 1830. Many thanks again Mike...............

Hi Lou and thank you. I really would love to have the details from the headstones for the people mentioned above if there are any and if possible a photo of each. The photo isn't essential though. I've been told by my mother and a cousin which cemeteries they were all in, just haven't ever seen them. If it helps at all... JohnWilliam Burton died 1955 and his wife Edith in 1953, I don't have the exact dates though. I have no info on William and his wife at all regarding their deaths. So kind of you to offer, thanx. Hi all, hope you don't mind me butting in here. I'm not from Leicestershire but my Mum is. Although she was born in Chesterfield she grew up in Coalville/Whitwick. Her parents are both Leicestershire too. Reading your posts made me laugh as they reminded me of how my Grandma used to talk. Sadly she passed away in 1998, so thanks for the reminder, it really made me smile. I don't suppose any of you are anywhere near to either London Road Cemetery or Broomleys Cemetery in Coalville? I ask because my Grt Grandparents John William Burton and Edith Agnes Burton are both buried in the latter whilst my Grt Grt Grandparents William Burton and his wife (Mary?) are buried in the former. This side of the family is taking way more effort than the Scots let me tell you. Chances of me getting down there from Scotland are remote for the moment lol. Anyone help possibly? Lou
