I'm following all this with bated breath. Can I be naughtyColin and butt in with a question? I keep getting a sign up that says:- Do you wish to run ActiveX controls? I always press Yes, but nothing seems to happen and I seem to get it oh perhaps every ten minutes.. Just updating this - it actually says:- Do you want to allow software such as ActiveX controls and plug-ins to run? Norah

Colin: Good Morning! With the part of the file path that was provided, it does appear to by spyware....a stubborn one. The Adaware, run in safe mode, SHOULD (famous last words!) remove it. The Adaware and safe mode options are already at her finger tips and easy enough to do. I'd do the Adaware in safe mode and if that doesn't do it, then I would go with program you suggested. Whatever is running in the background allowing the spyware to remain will be shut down in safe mode and Adaware shouldn't have a problem getting rid of it then. I have a computer class I am teaching today and I won't be "playing" online much.....if you don't mind, I will e-mail you with directions for safe mode for you to send along to Tracey as I can't send attachments through GC. (Two seperate documents, one for XP, the other for Windows 98/ME.) When you "see" her today on the boards, if she decides to go the Adaware/Safe Mode route, you can then forward her which ever document of the two she needs. Judy :)

WooHoo! I think I have the cure....I can't believe I didn't notice the obvious when the tech pointed it out. Thought for a second there that Colin and I were losing it! LOLOLOL! The file path you gave is incomplete. At any rate, it is a piece of spyware that is just being stubborn but should be easy enough to get rid of. First, make sure you update Adaware. Then you'll have to start your computer in SAFE MODE.....a diagnostics mode. Then run Adaware. When Adaware shows you the results of what is found, simply delete everything. Starting your computer in safe mode is easy....I have step by step directions for you, I just need you to let me know whether you have XP or Windows 98. The directives for this I will e-mail as the directives include pictures which can't be posted on the boards. I need you to contact me through GC sothat I have your actual e-mail address or contact me at: kabudy at c o m c a s t (.) net Judy :) Goog grief! It took me 6 tries to get that email address to post! A big hello to you Colin! ;)
