Have not got any knowledge of Walkden myself,but you might find something on these site www(.)manchesteronline(.)co(.)uk this is the manchester evening news.They run an in touch section where you can write to or email ([email protected])with details of your self or people you want to get in touch with www(.)manchester(.)gov(.)uk/libraries this is central library in St Peters square.they have all sorts of things to look at around Manchester ,but not sure about Salford/Walkden.
