Manchester Family History fair

Hi everyone has anybody been to these before? Manchester is ;Manchester Velodrome on 2nd October 2004 between the hours of 10.00am till 4.00pm. I have never been and they look quite interesting have any of the Manchester crowd attending? Is it like the ideal home exibition but for family history? Jan x

Janet Went to my first one last year ,I thought it was great. Lots of things to see and buy (save your pennies). Meet up with Vera who had helped me on GC and just missed a few others. Must make a date in my calender,have not seen anything about this yet,where did you find out from? Brenda

Hiya Brenda I missed this message then remembered I had posted it and went back to see if anyone had replied!! I can't remember where I sent it to but this was the email The fair is open to everybody on payment of a £2.00 entrance fee, we normally have at least 14 family history societies attending along with various commercial Exhibitors selling Postcards , Books (New and Second hand), computer programmes,Indexes and Record offices including the National Archive (Public Record office as was ). There will also be 3 Free Lectures, the content of which has not yet been decided but will be on Family History subjects. The Fair will be held at the Manchester Velodrome on 2nd October 2004 between the hours of 10.00am till 4.00pm. I may see you there! Jan x

Hi Janet and Brenda, Maybe I will see you there, but please take this bit of advice, start saving now! you have plenty of time and beleive you me you will not regret it. ALL the census CD's will be there and more. The National Archives were there last year and oh boy I wish I had £500 to spare. So please make sure you save, you will not regret it. Denise Manchester

I went last year thoroughly enjoyed it, I was little disappointed with the food arrangements, only sandwiches but I'm greedy
