Hi June. Purchasing certificates in Canada cost about the same as Scottish certs, or it might even be a little bit more (it's been years since I've purchased them). They do seem to be fairly expensive, eh? Welcome to the site. I've learned so much since joining; you'll have a great time here.

hi June and welcome - I agree with you - Scottish certs are £11 each compared to £7 for the rest of the UK I download the pages from the registers from Scotlands People for my lot and save a fortune :-) If you every need help with anything or are looking for something just give one of us a shout and come on members board for a chat :-)

I have just discovered genesconnected from an article in the Daily Mail. i have been reseaching my family tree for about a year now and have been left stuck quite a few times and it can be very confusing without help. i would just like to say that i think this is the best and most informative user friendly site i have found up todate so far.The more free sites we can find the better as this family research can become very expensive and this can be off putting for a lot of people. I wonder if i am the only person who thinks that the Register Offices or Records Ofices have a nice little earner going here the amount it costs for just one certificate!! Surely if they are public records if we are allowed access to find register information we should be able to access the registers and do our own photo copies of certifictates also ? What do other people think ?Cheers June Williams
