For those of us searching for military men in the 19th century, I found this song on an Aussie website. You can sing it to 'Waltzing Matilda (if you want to!) and the suggestion was that it was what the tune of 'Waltzing Matilda' was based on. A bold fusilier was marching through Rochester Bound for the wars in the Low Country And he cried as he tramped through the dear streets of Rochester Who'll be a soldier for Marlborough with me? Who'll be a soldier, who'll be a soldier.....etc Altogether everyone! Helen |
