The thing with these WORMS is that they can sit unnoticed in your computer and send infected e-mails to all and sundry. The purpose is to clog up the system and cause it to grind to a halt. That is why we must all be vigilant even if there are no apparent problems. Bob

Hi Bob, Thanx for the info. I run my AVG every time I use the comp now. According to that I'm virus free. Still....I always delete anything suspicious. & would never click onto a link that Iv'e not asked for or believe to be spoof ! (see Warning thread ) same goes for attatchments From those I dont know & trust. (friends always write a message for me when sending atts.) Thanks again Elainex

Kaspersky Labs has warned of a new virus that is already creating a global epidemic by exploiting the ICQ instant messaging application. The Bizex worm arrives as an instant message inviting the victim to visit the 'jokeworld' website where they are shown cartoons from a 'Joecartoon' series. However, in the background, the worm harvests the victim's ICQ contacts to which sends the invitation to visit the website as if it came from the victim. Kaspersky says the virus is written in Java and uses a flaw in ICQ to send its messages in a discreet manner that won't alert the victim to its activities. The company recommends those that receive such a message delete it immediately. ********************** W32/MyDoom-F is a worm which spreads by email. When the infected attachment is launched the worm harvests email addresses from address books and from files on the hard disk. W32/MyDoom-F either creates a file in the temp folder and runs Notepad to display the contents or displays one of the following messages: Unable to open specified file File cannot be opened File is corrupted W32/MyDoom-F 'spoofs', using randomly chosen email addresses in the "To:" and "From:" fields as well as a randomly chosen subject line. **************************** The home site of your own virus program is the place to go for information on how to be sure that your computer is not one of those that is being used to spread the infection Bob
