IF..... if you can start the day without caffeine, If you can get going without pep pills, If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains, If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles, If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it, If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time, If you can overlook it when those you love take it out on you when, through no fault of yours, something goes wrong, If you can take criticism and blame without resentment, If you can ignore a friend's limited education and never corret him, If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend, If you can face the world without lies and deceit, If you can conquer tension without medical help, If you can relax without liquor, If you can sleep without the aid of drugs, Then......you are probably the family dog! How true is this? Jacqui (having just taken her doggie for his 3rd lot of acupuncture, and him not making a murmer - bless him)

Hello - poor little boy has Spondylitis at the base of his spine (plus arthritis in front legs) He went off his back legs recently, and couldn't get up. He's on pain-relief and our Vet firmly believes in acupuncture so, we have been taking him for two weeks now. Happily he does seem to be responding. He actually had acupucture first about 2 years ago, when his condition was first diagnosed, and although I was perhaps a bit sceptical at first, there was no doubt that after the acupuncture he was able to walk. I just thought when I read "If" this morning, that it referred specifically to my dog and most family dogs; Toby never ever complains no matter what we do to him (and I imagine that 10-12 needles in your butt every couple of days must hurt!) Thanks for sharing. I don't know much about acupuncture, but from what I have been told it is not supposed to hurt. If that is any consolation. Our Feia knows the minute that she gets into the car she is going to the vet and trembles like a leaf. It takes four of us to hold her down. I put my hand in her mouth which seems to help as she gives me little nibbles. Feia is totally blind in the left eye and has partial vision in the right eye. She also has a heart condition. We too spend a lot of time at the vet. regards Lindy and Feia:-)
