I'm happy to see GC are going to add a facility to create a GEDCOM file. May solve my TribalPages problem. I'm alarmed they are going to change the look of GC to reflect the FriendsReunited look. That site, in my opinion, is extremely cluttered with key components and information not in 'natural' / easy to read places. Jason.

Here we go again - Did we ask GC to alter the 'look' of the site? - I don't think so. We did however make some suggestions to the actual mechanics of the thing - are we to assume that these will be overlooked in favour of a cosmetic make-over.. S.

With all due respect... "did we ask them to change the appearance ?" For goodness sake, it's their site, they provide the service, we're "JUST" customers. Of course they will change things from time to time to make things better (as they see it). The fact that they ask for views is BRILLIANT in my view, most companies wouldnt, I mean, would you expect your bank to ask your opinion before they redesigned their web page ? No, of course you wouldn't. I'll get off my soapbox now lol

It's rather like going to your favourite super-market only to find they have changed everything round so that you don't know where to look. Then after a couple of visits, you forget how it was originally. (well I do anyway) Norah

Paul - I know what you're saying - it was just that they did have the courtesy to ask us what we wanted from the site - and I just thought argh! they're giving the site a 'make-over' and are they going to ignore the suggestions that everyone made to help the site run more efficiently.. Oh Dear - sounds like i'm having a Miserable Old B*****s day doesnt it? Sorry all. Sue

Sorry I was perhaps a little too strong in expressing my views. I do agree with you that it's frustrating when functionality changes, but some of the comments I've seen previously (not yours) seemed to think GC shouldnt be allowed to change anything without our permission !!

Having just started a new job after being out of work for a year and half, i was surprised to see the message boards have had a bit of a face-lift. I'm also glad to see that they are going to let us create a gedcom. but will we be able to create a file from 'other trees' that we can view? I also agree with those that think that the 'look' of the site should not be changed to look like FRIENDS REUNITED. if it ain't broke don't fix it! Now all we need is a search facility for the message boards... Darren (Nuneaton)

Yes ... Paul got a bit excited there didn't he. My main gripe was thay they are going to make it look like FriendsReunited. A superb service, which has done a great job for me personally, but now IMHO its a cluttered looking site. Jason.
