Roman Road Market in Bow/Bethnal Green was my favourite too - great for up to the minute fashion clothes at low prices. For plants it had to be Columbia Road Market (back of Hackney Road) - all shapes and sizes at good prices, too. I really miss London for its markets!! Now we live in Bicester, Oxfordshire where there is a small weekly market on Friday, a Farmers Market every other Thursday and once or twice a year a French Market. Kathy

Ohhhhhhhhh, How I miss Roman Road Market in Bow London on a Saturday Morning. Me my Mum and Sister's used to all meet up at our house and off we'd go. 3 hours of shopping later and straight in the Pie and Mash Shop, and how I miss the Pie and Mash Shop. When visting London now I have to go and have a fix (Pie and Mash) before we come home. Can't wait till my next vist in a few weeks time, my mouths watering already. Angie. Ummmmmmmmmmmm.

Ludlow in Shropshire is a good one and often does speciality days . This weekend it's a French theme. Also Bridgnorth has a lovely market on a Saturday , definatly worth a visit, and in case you are wondering I am not working for the Shropshire tourist board.

East Street not far from Elephant and Castle. London Sunday mornings used to be great there - but have not been for years. Liz

Walthamstow market - the longest street market in Europe. Stalls out every day, but 'Market days' are Thursday and Saturday. Good old East End barrow boys all shouting the odds over the fruit and veg, plus a great pie n mash shop! Maz. XX

I love to wander round markets, and thought it would be a good idea to hear what street markets are near you and what is special about them? Kathy
