Hoping for some advice on this one. In 1870 Mary Fletcher died at 172 Upper Frederick Street, Liverpool. In 1881 on 25 April Edward Owen died there, and the informant was W Owen who lived there. On the 1891 Census a family called Grayson lived there. So the house exists. However on the indexed 1881 census on disc and on Family Search the street numbers run out at 168. Did the enumerator miss it and the others at that end of the street, or did the compilers of the Indexed Census CDs miss it. Where will the original census documents for the 1881 be held? Thanks. Hi Keith, House numbers often change from census to census. The house my parents live in has has its number changed 3 times since they bought it as more houses are built further up the lane. You can order a film of the original census at any LDS centre and there is probably a copy in the count record office and the FRC in London. Gwynne |
