Has anyone else received an Email claiming to be from Ntl's email department, saying that their computer is sending out spam or viruses due to a virus on their system? it even has a zip file claiming to contain info about the problem attached to it. Surely if ntl had a problem with my system they would include the info in the email itself as they warn you not to open any unsual attachments! Darren (nuneaton) not at work 4 days off wooohoo

Hi Norah, Don't you if they answer, I swear to god they're all to busy at NTHELL checking theire email oR chating on GC to answer the phones! I had a feeling it was'nt genuine, cos i've been getting a lot of emails that i haven't sent 'returned' by the postmaster for some london based isp with files attached containing 'info'. I wouldn't mind but i'm getting them sent to my old email address which i don't use to send only receive. darren( now enjoying his 4 days off in Nuneaton, if thats possible)

Hi again Darren. Tell you what ntl are guilty of:- Sending me two personalised e-mails inviting me to go onto broadband (which I have been trying to do for ages). On the second one I was invited to fill in all my details, they then gave my pooter a check to see if it was capable of receiving broadband and yes that was O.K. then got a message to say an engineer would contact me within the next 48 hours. After 4 days (internet-less) I phoned them. "Doh, no you are in an analogue area, therefore no broadband." So ntl got a stern letter from Norah telling them not to waste her time. So yes, they are a real pain in the jaxi? Is that word allowed? Norah, I think jaxi is a bit too mild. NTLHELL are a pain in the posterier. My mate had the super duper all singing all dancing ultra fast top of the range "you'll never know how you coped without it before!" bleedin fast Broadband installed just before christmas, now 3 new modems later he's still waiting for them to come out to sort his problems. He's only been on it twice! He's not a happy bunny.

Hi Darren It is the beagle/bagle virus. Delete without opening the attatchment. If you havent any antivirus...get some ! You can download AVG free edition in the Grisoft site. I had this but bought norton which is far better. Elaine x

Hi Everyone... Be warned that there are some 'dodgy' emails going round supposedly from BARCLAYS BANK too. I got an email from a friend weeks ago, u know the sort...... been to about 300 ppl b4 u get it...warning of a scam, well i just ignored it, but lo and behold I got not one, but two mails exactly like the ones i was warned about !!! I 4warded them onto Barclays who assured me they were definately NOT from them. If you have any doubt about mails...NEVER OPEN THEM!! and remember, any trusted companies that you use will never ask for personal details on-line. Stay safe, and good luck with your GC searching !! :o))
