I am having trouble trying to find a birth record for a george henry bulled. he died in 1958 aged 54 and was married in 1926 aged 22. this all points to a birth in 1904 but there is no trace in this or the surrounding years. I have just received a copy of his marraige certificate and this shows his name as george henry bulled otherwise george henry bulled woods. can anyone explain why two possible names would show as i am stuck at the first hurdle in tracing my tree

Have you tried taking a jump back to work forwards? Try looking for his father on the 1901 census (you should have his name on the marriage cert) and see if this can give you any clues.
