Does anyone out there know what those trolley things are called that were used in the 1920s on the railtracks? Two people or more rode them and they had levers that you pushed up and down to make it go along the track. This has been bugging me for ages and I cannot find them on the internet. Thank you

Hi Karen: In the States at least, it looks like it was called a "Handcar". In case you are curious: http://www.handcar.net/ (Drove me nuts -- I couldn't think of the name of it either.)

In GB it was called an "engineers trolley" - A hand-propelled flat trolley for permanent way staff to convey tools and material to the site of work. Umpteen railway definitions here: http://www.mda.org.uk/railway/railobje.htm Bob
