Congratulations to you both, what a wonderful feeling it is when a brick wall falls down. I also had been searching for one of many missing rellies and now I have finally found her after going through hundreds of pages of the 1851 census. A good result and at least everyone on this site is supportive. Lisa Thank you for that tip Pat

Lynn and Jill: I'm so excited for you both. Aren't computers and the internet wonderful? When I am successful my hubby says "oh. that's good." Well, at least I'M excited for the two of YOU! Lynn: Have you tried several combinations when looking for your ancestors? Example: for my ancestor James Mumford, I type: James Mumford, or J Mumford, or Jas Mumford or Mumford, James, etc. You would be surprised what results you can get!

Hi Lynn, Well done, it is so exciting is n't it? I had a similar experience recently. I Was getting fed up with getting no where after months of trying. I went onto a site I had not tried before and typed in 3 surnames. I had 2 replies one of which has traced my GGGGG Grandfather! The other reply sounds quite hopeful as well. I just wanted to tell someone, but all I got from hubby was is that good then?!!!!! I also sent off for my first certificate and heard from a cousin who had my other Grandparents marriage certificate. All this happened in one week!! Just proves that you need to be patient and our hobby will pay off. Jill

I just wasn't getting anywhere fast..not that I really expected to bu,t began to get very disheartened. Than last night I just typed in the village where my Gt Gt grandparents on my fathers side lived and used my search engine.Low and behold there was this most wonderful site and it told me everything I needed to know and more. I have since e.mailed and had a reply from from another researcher related to them. What a wonderful feeling I had when on my screen was the answers I have been looking for.Why oh why did I not use my search engine before, but what a wonderful wonderful day its been Lynn
