Wow, Thanks for all the replies, I will let Dan's Mum know and also email Dan to get in touch with me if he needs any help finding places. Thanks Di when he gets near Sydney I will glean some info from you and pass it on. Will keep you informed as to his travels. We have a large Aussie map each and are sticking pins in as he travels around. Thanks again, Sandra xxx

Hi Sandra If your nephew needs any kind of pointers for Sydney, I'd be happy to supply info. I know that it's a worry - especially as OZ hasn't had the best reputation lately for backpackers..just let him know there are GC members here too who are always happy to help!! I've had many friends from the UK visit, travel etc, and now I get visits or calls from their friends and then their friends....Anyway, glad to hear that all's well Di in Sydney

All OK now, After emailing every Backpacker Lodge and leaving messages, Dan at last responded and didn't realise it had been 15 days since he emailed home to England. Emailed my sister this morning. Got caught up in Surfing comps. He had an accident with his surf board and hit a rock so now it has a big hole in it. Glad it wasn't Dan. He found work Fruit Picking and also helped dismantle Band Stage for $15 hour. So now he says is off to Brisbane by Train in next couple of days. We are following his progress round Aussie for the next 12 months. Thankyou to all who gave Phone numbers and Websites to contact. It certainly did the trick in the end. Sandra xxx
