A friend of mine goes to a local boot market every week. Acouple of weeks ago she came round saying she had a little present for me. She handed me a book called "the history of our family". There`s loads of pages for writing in ancestors and their details. Also pages for recording homes, military records, collections and heirlooms, pets, clubs and societies, you name it, it`s there! And there`s space for photos too. It was printed in 1987, but looks brand new. Something to record all my findings, and pass on to my daughter, so the family history is kept going. Not bad for £2!! We go to loads and usually manage to pick up a bargain. Have also sold a lot of our "junk" at them as well - last time we were selling we made about £80.

The biggest one in Brighton is at my son's school every Sunday. We have many a bargain over the past 3 years...pine shelves for a fiver, a huge rug for a pound etc etc well worth a look.

I love car boot sales - you never know what to expect. My best bargain was an old cruet set bought for £5, turned out to be worth about £25. Quite good considering I was only about 12 at the time. Go to one - they can be great fun! Lynne
